I love this rack!,

I am totally happy with this rack. I have a nice lightweight road bike that I don't want to clutter with a fixed rack but I wanted to have the capability to carry some extra gear or run some errands when I felt like it. This rack is PERFECT for that. I am impressed with the high quality material and welds, and the quick release function works great. I just did a 40-mile ride to Costco and stocked up with a rack trunk (fits perfectly on the Delta rack under my saddle) full of vitamins etc. The rack was rock-solid and vibration free. The tag that comes with the rack actually states a carry capacity of 40 lbs vs. the 25 mentioned here but I would be a bit wary of that much load. Very high quality, nice lightweight rack with super-easy on and off mounting. Five stars all the way for my purposes.

Functional Bike Rack - With some Warnings,
By
This review is from: Delta Mega Rack Post Haste Quick Release Bicycle Seat Post Rack (Sports)
I purchased this rack to carry Medical First Aid Supplies on a 180 mile, 2 day bike ride (I am a Paramedic riding as a medic). The rack was completely functional, and I used it successfully on my Canondale road bike. There are, however three issues that need to be published to potential buyers using road bikes:
1. The metal teeth on the inside of the clincher are dangerous for use on carbon fiber seat posts (might damage the post). 2. The size of the seat post clincher is wide for a narrow road bike seat, and rubbed against my legs during the ride. (not too bad) 3. The rack with a load will change the weight distribution to the rear on the bike, and standing up on the pedals on a climb will cause the bike to fishtail slightly more than normal. (I was able to compensate after a couple of hours and minimized this problem)

Love my quick release rack. Super easy to install - nice secure fit. My only complaint would be that Delta only provides the included reflector mount, which doesn't work with most reflectors since they're almost always designed to fit onto posts and will only mount onto their adapter if put on sideways with additional hardware. Want a light back there? Too bad, so sad. But that wasn't a good enough answer for me. So....
How to mount any post-mount light/reflector on a Delta Post Haste Rack: You will need a 1-7/8 inch length of 3/4-inch PVC pipe, an equal length of 3/4-inch wooden dowel, one 3/16 x 1-1/4 inch fender washer, one 2-1/2 inch #10 bolt and one #10 nut (or wingnut for super easy install). Drill a hole down the center of the length of dowel. (The dowel is merely to fill the space within the PVC pipe and, so, stabalize it over the washer. If your patient, you could just fill the PVC pipe with a spray of Great Stuff, then drill out the path for the #10 bolt.) To install, insert the #10 bolt down through the top of the rack using the same pre-drilled hole they have provided for their so-called reflector adapter. Insert the drilled-out dowel piece into the PVC pipe before slipping the entire works onto the bolt from beneath. Add the washer and wingnut, then tighten. That's it. You now have a lightweight simulated seatpost onto which any seatpost light can be mounted. The washer has a larger diameter than the PVC by about an eighth of an inch. This will help prevent any loosening strap or sudden, unavoidable pothole from leaving your light somewhere on the road behind you. I don't know why Delta doesn't make something like this available, either with the rack or as a separate add-on. Other manufacturers make add-on mounts for their racks, but I like the Delta rack better. It just seems to be a better rack than the competition's. So, don't let the lack of an adequate light/reflector mount for this rack disuade you. A little innovation can make all the difference.
