This is a nice bag with a fatal flaw. The major zippers break very easily. After my first bag broke within a few months, Amazon kindly provided a free replacement. Deja vu ensued. For a few extra dollars, Delta could use more robust zippers--they really should.

Verified Purchase
When I carry my laptop my main concern is that it be securely attached to my bike. I purchased this one AND the Trek Interchange because I thought they would be easier to get on/off and more secure. I later found out these are conflicting goals. :-(

I used the Trek for months and it is pretty good. Unfortunately the bag flew off twice with my laptop inside. It was pretty scary.I am not willing to take a chance with a $2K laptop and all the data(priceless.)

I have no comment on the zipper issue. I've used mine for over a year with no problem.

Three favorite features
1) Has clothesline type clips to keep bag secure hold very tight. My Laptop has never come off using the clips. They hold my laptop securely. I don't even need the elastic strap. Read neg below (B).
2) Can tilt bag back to give added heal clearance. This is especially helpful to those without touring frames. Please note you are buying a right/left specific bag.
3)Comes with rain cover.

Negatives-
A) The bag opening is small. Not the easiest to get stuff in/out of. This is especially true when the bag is full.
B) It is so secure that you might forget about the elastic strap at the bottom. I did and I ripped the strap. No worries the clothesline clips keep my computer secure. :-))
C)Rain cover- it's there, but the location of it is awkward. It contributes to negative a) above. You hit it when you are putting stuff in the bag. The Trek Interchange does a much better job of integrating the rain cover so it does not take up valuable space inside the bag.

I bought this pannier for carrying my laptop to school. The mounting clips are the same plastic clothes pin types found on the Delta Expedition Panniers. I"ve had those bags for over a year and no issues with the clips, so I'm expecting the same on the Metro Elite. However, with them being plastic, the fear of failure is always there I use the shoulder strap looped and weaved through my rack as a "safety".

The zippers are contained in a rubberish seam which keeps them out of the elements. But it also makes zipping/unzipping a bit of a pain. Someone mentioned that their zippers broke and I see that as something that is very likely, so I'm very careful the zippers.

The rain fly is a nice addition. I don't ever plan on using the bag in wet weather as I don't want to risk my laptop. But I like using the fly with the bag because it's bright yellow and a good high viz addition. Also, even in dry weather, I still hit my fair share of wet spots due to sprinklers and standing water. So any little bit of extra protection for my laptop is a good thing.

For the price I'd expect better zippers. But the bag serves its purpose well so far.

This bag is awesome. I can put my laptop in it and still ride my bike. My laptop is 17" apple laptop. My favorite program is Painter because I can make cool pictures on my laptop on it. I wish that I had another one so that I could have two computers. I would sell one for over one thousand dollars.
