This review is from: Delusions of Grandeur (Audio CD)
i love cathy richardson. i was recently turned on to her by watching noggin's 'jack's big music show' where she appears on several episodes. her 'the road to bliss' album is awesome in its' own right, but 'delusions of grandeur' really highlights her ability to change musical styles seamlessly.
from rock to blues to folk, she does it with aplomb. some of my favorite tracks are 'making a list' (very sultry and bluesy), 'G.O.D.' (a folk-rock song about faith), 'things are different' and 'overwhelmed' (really powerful lyrics, will give you goosebumps), and 'closet cultivator' (a funny song about a next door neighbor who is 'cultivating the lovely mood elevator').
whereas the 'road to bliss' focuses on her rock roots, 'delusions of grandeur' fills the spaces between.
BUT! don't buy it from amazon...buy it directly from her website [...] this way, she will get 100% of the proceeds!
