As my dog had never been in one, I decided to just ride around the block. Thank goodness my son was with me, since I couldn't see behind me at the moment, my dog had already ripped the side and was trying to get out. At least he was leashed in. Didn't use it for 10 minutes now I have to sew it up. It was very easy to assemble and easy to connect to my bicycle. It's also good for transporting heavy and larger items that don't fit in my small basket. If your pet is used to riding in them I don't see an issue, but if they aren't, not sure.
