Nice style and look. Quality leaves something to be desired, but for occasional use it is fine. Can be difficult to re-hang the basket after cleaning and the plug is too close to the side window. With a few modifications, this could be a lot better. Mine came with one defective wheel and the company was quick to send a new one.

It arrived without an axle rod for the wheels, but the company was quick to send one in the mail. The popcorn tastes pretty good, but the butter and flavoring does not evenly coat all of the popcorn popped. Also, there is quite a few unpopped kernels, a consistent amount each time. You would expect for them to be in the kettle after the popping is complete, but they are actually down below on the tray. What happens, is that as the popcorn is vigoursly popping, it lifts up and pushes out the unpopped kernels. I don't know how the unit could be designed differently to prevent this. Perhaps a deeper kettle would help. I don't see why these unpopped kernels couldn't just be added to the next batch, although I wouldn't reuse any unpopped kernels left over in the kettle itself.
The kettle is difficult to reposition after it is taken out and cleaned, and adding the butter, flavoring, and kernels can be a challenge because the kettle handle keeps getting in the way. I almost gave this three stars, but it is a lot of fun, and great for large groups that come over. |
