This is a great pill splitter. And I guess also a great pill crusher. It doesn't fully crush pills, but a "pill crusher" is only supposed to crush a pill down for people who can't swallow whole pills, and it does exactly that.
If you snort pills this isn't for you.

Nice clean cut, and seems sturdy.
I was going to give this thing 4 stars because of the crushing part, but realized it does crush the pill, just not into a fine powder, but wasn't really expecting it to anyways.

This is a good pill cutter. Handles capsule shaped tablets well due to the tops size and shape. Crushing is adequate.

This is a great little pill crusher and pill cutter. This is the second time I purchased this item, my first one is lost. A tip for getting the best cut is to lean the container slightly back to keep the pill in place and then quickly snap the cutter down.

I bought this product at a Walgreen's. If you need to split round pills, it works fine. There are guides/rails that "hold" the pill in place, and it doesn't take much pressure to split the pill. The top piece which contains the blade also acts as a lid to keep the split pills in place so they don't go flying away upon splitting.

If you need to split anything but a perfectly round pill however, this pill splitter is no good. I have one prescription that is an oblong/oval shaped pill, and it's practically impossible to situate it so that it gets evenly split. Orienting the pill either vertically or horizontally, the problem is the same. The guide rails just don't hold the pill securely enough, and it inevitably moves prior to splitting no matter how carefully and precisely I try to place it.

Another prescription is a rounded triangle shape. Same problem. These pills are very expensive and of course proper dosing is a priority, so it's frustrating that I can't get this pill splitter to divide them evenly. I wish they were manufactured in the dosages I need and didn't have to split them. As it is, I'll be looking for a splitter that does a better job with odd sizes.

So far, this product cuts pills as advertised. I haven't tried to crush any pills. For large, oblong pills, you have to insert them vertically for it to work - so you get elongated pieces. For the price, it's a pretty good deal.

The deluxe cut n crush pill splitter works well. The bigger pills
are easily cut with this splitter.

It is very useful because I carry only one object with ability of two: crush the pills or splitt them as needed for my patients. I received this item less than one week!:)

A good product for a person that needs medication, but likes to travel. It works well, but the storage cap needs to be given a place for when it's not in use. Other than the loose cap that needs to be addressed, I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased this at my local pharmacy after my old one broke. Using this pill crusher makes me wonder if whoever designed it actually tested it.

I wonder if those who gave high reviews have ever used an externally threaded crusher. The problem with this pill crusher is that it has internal threads. Why is this a problem? Because after you crush the pill and go to pour the powder into a medicine cup or feeding tube, a lot of the powder gets caught in the groves of the threads. This thing makes giving a full dose a major pain. The only way to get 100% of the powder out is to fill it up with water, which just adds another step (clean up).

There really is no point when there are such better options.

I have been taking care of my wife for the last 10 years, who has been in a coma since she was 19 from a car accident. I have to crush 10-15 pills a day for her.

I refuse to use any other pill crusher than this one: EZ Plastic Pill Crusher by Apex.

This pill crusher was a waste of money for me. I picked it up at Walgreens quite a while ago and found it to be useless. I just bought the Ultra Pill Crusher by Apex on Amazon and stand in utter amazement at how well it works for five bucks and change.
