Took weeks to get this from the seller (extra four days processing time, plus shipping via slow and unreliable media mail), but now that it's here, it's working great.
Took a minute to get the old tip off, but it wasn't too bad. Just pulled it in different directions, inching one side up, then another, until it popped off.
This one has a little weight to it, but you have to have that for the stability. Any lighter, and the cane would still be prone to falling over. I have a fairly lightweight cane, so the extra half pound still leaves it at a comfortable weight for me.
This is a bit pricey for a cane tip (cost as much as the cane itself), but it's such a relief to be able to just park the thing without worrying that it'll fall over, clatter noisily against the floor, and then require me to bend down to pick it up again. No more looking for little nooks, knobs, and corners. I can just let it go, and as long as I leave it reasonably straight, it'll wobble into position and then stand in place.
If it does fall over for some reason, I can use my foot to bring it back up. Just nudge it over so the long "leg" is sticking up, then step on it to bring the handle right back up.
It is a little funny walking with it at first. It hits the floor a little differently than the smaller, rounded tip I'm used to. Feels a little different if I don't put it down straight. I'm sure I'll get used to it, though, and it's definitely worth it.
