5.0 out of 5 stars Fabu for the youngest fashionistas
This toy is an excellent addition to your toy chest. Ours is loved by both our five and two year old daughters. Fortunately, it comes with two dolls, so fighting is minimized. Outfits are more durable and easier to manipuate than traditional paper dolls. Plus, it is made of wood and does not feature any mass marketed characters or women with unattainable body shapes...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the usual Melissa & Doug
I am a HUGE Melissa & Doug fan... we have many, many of their toys and pieces. However, this one didn't quite do it for me like the others. The stands were useless. The clothes didn't "stay" on.

I usually opt for these and other wooden, durable toys because my girls are hard on their things. When they play they go all out and these dolls just didn't stand...

I am a HUGE Melissa & Doug fan... we have many, many of their toys and pieces. However, this one didn't quite do it for me like the others. The stands were useless. The clothes didn't "stay" on.

I usually opt for these and other wooden, durable toys because my girls are hard on their things. When they play they go all out and these dolls just didn't stand up to the test.

I suppose if a child was more quiet and subdued, playing with these in the typical "paper doll" fashion, there would have been no problem. My girls expected to be able to move and interact while playing... letting the dolls "work" or "play" in the manner they were dressed (walk across the table like a model, hike up the arm of a chair in hiking boots and walking shorts...).

I still like these toys. I still will continue to buy Mellisa & Doug items as they are more than worth their salt in the durability and imaginative category. This one just fell a bit short of Meliisa & Doug's standard, but was still lightyears ahead of any other competition!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great doll dress up for small hands, November 20, 2004

My 3 year old daughter has this dress up set and it is great for little hands that are not coordinated enough yet to dress and undress actual Barbi dolls. She loves changing their outfits and switching their accessories - and I love that she can do this without any frustration. Mellissa and Doug toys are made with the quality of older toys - they are well constructed and made to last - and the sturdy box allows for easy clean up and storage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite a good fit, January 8, 2005

I ussually love Melissa and doug toys but I found this one to be poorly made. I bought this for my 4 year old daughter and was very disappointed that the dolls would not fit in their stand, I think the dolls are too heavy and akward. The clothes are supposed to be magnetic but they easily slide off the dolls. We had to do a lot of improvising with this set. As with all Melissa and Doug toys, they are extremely durable and because of this I still gave it a three star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful & fun!, March 8, 2006

I got this for my 3 year old niece. She loves it and requests that it go with her all the time. The box to hold all the pieces is handy, the magnets are easy and there's lots of variations of outfits. Having 2 dolls makes it easy for friends, parents etc to play along and interact. The only cons I see is that the box with all the pieces is a bit heavy, it could use a handle. And the magnets are strong but sometimes the pieces slip a bit. All in all, a great gift and toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for twins!, October 19, 2005
This review is from: Deluxe Magnetic Dress-Up (Toy)
I bought this item for my twin daughter's 3rd birthday. They loved it!! I also purchased a true paper doll set for my 5 year old and she prefers to play with this set instead. Wonderful that it comes with 2 dolls, they each have their own doll and there is plenty of clothes to divide up between them.

I really like Doug and Melissa toys. I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old for Christmas and she loves it. It is easy for little hands to dress the "realistic" dolls. I usually have to keep this toy up when friends come by because it is one of those things that get fought over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clothing is a bit weird but the idea is great., November 17, 2003

My daughter received this toy as a gift for her 3rd birthday. She loves playing with it, and especially having her aunt, me or her daddy play with her, using the 2nd doll. What a great idea to include 2 dolls so that the child can play with someone else. We have fun creating scenarios where the ladies are going to work or the movies or shopping or hiking. And then my daughter picks out the clothing for each to wear.

I do wish that the clothing was a bit nicer - some of the outfits are strange. I great idea would be to make an accessory package to enlarge the clothing selection. The clothing pieces (shoes, purses, hats) are small so keep them away from younger children - choking hazard.

I got this for my 3 year old niece, who loves to dress things up, and everyone at the birthday party thought it was the coolest gift. Since my niece tends to pretty much just play with the toys that are out and most accessible, my sister put this one away in her closet as the true test. She asked for it the next day, and she still plays with it quite a bit.

These wooden "paper dolls" are very cool! Sturdy wood dolls w/ magnetized clothing pieces. I first saw these at my 4-year-old daughter's pre-school. The kids loved them! Now we have a set at home (and an extra set hidden away for a gift...)
