Gotta have this mobile,
By A Customer
This review is from: Deluxe Music In Motion Developmental Mobile W Remote (Baby Product)
This mobile is one of the best purchases we made for the baby. My son is now 5 months old and has enjoyed it all along. We started with the John Lennon mobile to match the nursery. Didn't like it-you had to wind it up, it only played one song and that was very short. I like that the Sassy mobile is remote controlled, has 3 different songs/music and it plays for about 10 minutes. The ocean waves lul him to sleep and the other 2 songs entertain him during play time. The interchangeable attachments stimulate my son at the appropriate developmental stages. Now that he is at the second stage, the stuffed animals that you start with are now his toys. The arm of the mobile swings side to side so you can move it out of the way if needed during diaper/clothing changes. The fact that the mobile rotates slowly and pauses gives the baby a chance to follow and then focus on the mobile, which is good for eye development. I thought about the "symphony in motion" by the same company but read that the mobile had fallen for alot of people or pieces had come apart. This hasn't been the case with the "Deluxe Developmental mobile" and we couldn't be happier with it. For all that it has to offer, you can't beat the price. It is cheaper than the mobiles that "match" the nursery theme/decor. This mobile "matched" my son's needs.

This is a fantastic mobile. My 2 month old really loves it. She smiles at it...big smiles and monkey noises and evenlaughter. This mobile can entertain her happily for about 20-30 minutes without my presence. This is an awesome accomplishment for a two month old. I started with the simple geometric shapes. These caught her eye and she watched it intensely. When I changed it to the animal faces, she started really cooing and smiling and making happy squeaks. The animals have very big eyes, which I think infants can see well from the laying down in crib position. The animals look happy, bright and friendly. I would recommend this mobile for any infant's enjoyment. I would also suggest that if you want the time to be able to take a shower, or heat up a cup of coffee...buy a mobile that is bright and colorful and skip the "perfect" mobile to fit your decor. This mobile will run for a long time and you don't have to keep winding it up. My daughter's room is "princess" themed...but that matters little to her at this stage. I put the decorative wind-up mobile I received as a gift on my daughter's changing table. There it matters little that I have to wind it up a couple of times because I'm detained by a dirty diaper. The Sassy mobile also pivots quite easily. I have used this feature when taking pictures of my little one. I set her Boppy pillow in the crib (against the back rail) and throw a nice blanket over it and the back rail. I then sit my cutie pie in the Boppy pillow and turn on the mobile. After she starts to smile I quickly move the mobile to the side and snap a great picture. Nothing to date has been more effective at getting her to smile for a photo! One minus for me is the quality of sound. It sometimes warbles and sounds "tin-ey." I thought it was bad batteries...but after a change it still occurs occassionally. This doesn't bother my daughter at all though, but I doubt I will use the "music box" feature when I must dismantel the mobile at 5-6 months. I also haven't needed to use the remote feature because I use it as an activity station. It makes her happy and alert, not sleepy. I turn it on and she is so delighted she doesn't even notice I have slipped off to eat Bon Bon's and lavish myself in spa treatments (OK...brush my teeth and make a bottle or two) ;o).

Make it a Deluxe....and get some sleep!,

My wife and I recently purchased this for our 2-month-old daughter and we've been sleeping peacefully ever since. Different tunes, interchanging mobile pieces, and a remote control earn this one high praise. Considering that other mobiles we looked at only had one song, no remote, and 4 dangling items that didn't change, opting to spend the few extra bucks for this model made perfect sense. Granted, the nursery medley gets a little grating, but it's not designed for grown up ears. Our baby lights up whenever she hears it, and the "Ocean Wave" puts her out at night when we're ready to sleep. The animals and the four reversible faces have rattles to entertain a baby when they're not attached, which is a neat bonus, considering that we just wanted a mobile. It took a few minutes to get the remote working, but all I had to do was screw in the cover tightly and it came to life easily. Other than that, I had this opened, assembled, and working in about five minutes. I highly recommend this mobile, as it offers a lot of stuff for a decent price. It keeps my baby amused and soothes her to sleep, which fits the description of a perfect mobile in my book. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get some sleep myself....

This is an excellent toy for my 2 months old son. I've tried the Symphony Animal Mobile by Tiny Love after reading all the reviews. But my son didn't like it. It looks overwhelming to me too. I give this mobile five stars because of the following reasons:1. Remote control: It REALLY works and can be hung on your door knob for easy access. The only thing I would like to see to be added on this mobile is a volume control. Although the volume on the mobile is just right, it would be nicer if there is a choice. In terms of the design on the hanging toys, I was not crazy about it after seeing it the first time. But my son loves it. Like someone mentioned in a review, whatever works best for your BABY, it is the best. I would highly recommend this mobile.

the best,

At about 2 weeks old, this mobile was the first thing my son smiled at. He's now five months old, and still loves to kick and coo at it. There is no other object (or person!) that has gotten such a consistently adoring reaction from him.The mobile is great because it comes with one set of reversible plastic shapes (which, it's been pointed out, look a bit like breasts from beneath) and some stuffed animal shapes too, so they can be changed as he grows older and develops. The shapes and animals also make good standalone toys. Now his absolute favorite thing is to stand in the crib and bat at the objects as they go by. It must be pretty sturdily constructed, as it hasn't broken yet!

Our son loves this mobile... and so do we!,

This mobile has multiple options for sounds and music. When our son's ready to play, the music choices are great and not annoying to Mom & Dad. When he's calming down to sleep, the "waves" are more soothing. One of the best features is the ability to switch the attached objects. This makes the mobile more visually exciting over time for little ones. Plus, when the mobile can no longer be used in the crib, the animals et al can be used as individual toys. Please note that the mobile does start and stop. This is actually a design feature, not a defect. It gives the baby time to focus on each object. It's great developmentally - much better than trying to track a moving blur. Also, the noise of movement is not that extreme - it can be rather soothing actually. Further, the remote is pretty simple and a great feature - the only catch is that it needs to be aimed directly at the mobile to work. Follow the directions and it will work fine. This mobile works great on batteries and has lasted 3 months thus far with regular use. The only negative is that the mobile will stop after 10 minutes. You're not able to adjust how long you'd like it to continue. Our son loves it so much that he could actually watch it for 30 minutes at times without getting bored. Hence, the value of a remote to turn it on again.

Best mobile ever!!!!!,

We had originally purchased the Symphony Animal Mobile by Tiny Love. My daughter was a little over 2 months old when the motor died on it. She had just started gazing at it for 5 min increments. It was very large and bulky and didn't seem to entertain her at all. We chose to try this one and we couldn't be happier. Not to mention her! She has never spent more than 5-10 min of interest in any toy. Not her swing, playmat, or bouncy seat. The first time I put her in her crib with this new mobile her entire face just lit up. She spent over a half hour mesmerized by it. She was laughing and cooing the entire time. She did the same thing that evening. Nothing has held her attention longer than this mobile. I love that it has 12 different stage interchangeable attachments that can be rattles later on. Hard and soft rattles. The remote is great and it works well. It isn't too big and bulky yet it has enough to it to make my daughter laugh. I think it isn't as over stimulating as the Symphony mobile. The 3 different music options are great. Lullabies, classical and white noise. It does have a volume control which works great. The fact that it pauses intermittently gives my daughter a chance to really focus on the animals or toys. You can swing the mobile out of the way when needed to pick her up and out of the crib. It can entertain her when you need some time to get things done and it has also helped her relax and go down for a nap. It is $5 cheaper than the Symphony mobile and comes with way more including the remote control. This mobile is well worth every penny and our best investment yet. Buy this and watch your baby's face light up. You won't regret this investment.

This mobile ROCKS!!!,

Our daughter is, was, and still is enthralled with this mobile from the time she started sleeping in her crib. She LOVES the toys that rotate on this, and as she has gotten older upon waking she is even smiling and "talking" to them without them moving she likes the mobile so much! At night we put it on one rotation with the ocean sound and "knock on wood" she always falls asleep NO JOKE. We rarely if ever use the remote, but it does work. The music is a little tinny for my husband and I, but she absolutely adores it. The way the music/waves fade is great at bedtime. And the way the mobile pauses to let little eyes focus is just right. I was a little cautious when registering for this because I thought it to be a little pricey, but with the selection of 3 sets of toys to hang for different ages it is well worth it. I would highly recommend this mobile!

A changing table life saver,

I could not use this on my crib, as we have a crib that is constructed with heavy, thick wood. So, I put it on my changing table. It is the best! Now my six month old son will turn on his side to hit the button to turn it on. It's almost a requirement for him to look at it while he's having his diaper changed. We use it several time daily and have only had to change the batteries once. I love the different interchangable pieces as well. Highly recommended!

Great Mobile,

This is a really wonderful mobile. My now 10 week old daughter loves it. I really like the fact that it hesitates so the baby can focus in. The music is real nice, and the white noise seems to lull her to sleep. The remote control works up to four feet, which is enough to activate it again from the bedroom door. The swivel arm is great, moving it out of the way.
There are a few drawbacks though. Yes, it is very difficult to get the battery in, but it is doable. The lowest noise setting still seems to be to loud for the two music options, for my daughter to sleep. The biggest drawback is that if you accidentaly bump into the moblie it makes a lot of noise, with all the plastic pieces having little balls inside, to wake the baby. But, i still highly recommend this mobile, just be careful not to bump into it or the crib while the baby is sleeping. |
