After recently purchasing new home theater seating, the next step was to get a home popcorn machine. The kids were excited about getting a popcorn machine and we settled on the 6oz Paramount machine with the matching cart. The machine also comes in a 4oz and 8oz versions, but for only about $30 more than the 4oz machine, we could get make 50% more popcorn with the 6oz machine. You won't regret the cost of spend a little extra money to get the 6oz machine.

The cart and popcorn machine arrive in two separate boxes and the caft requires assembly, but it is so easy! My daughter and I had it together in no time at all. The popcorn machine is then attached to the cart, and then you attach the kettle, screw in the stirrer, plug everything in and you're ready to go!!

After warming up the kettle, simply pour the pre-packaged oil, salt, and popcorn into the kettle and you're poppin'. The aroma it makes smells so good throughout the room! One recommendation: use only half the salt in the pre-packaged pouches, as we found the popcorn to be a little salty when you use all of the salt. The machine is easy to wipe clean and I would recommend using just soap and water. The crumb/old maid tray is also a great feature to help clean your machine. Couldn't really evaluate the warming light and deck warmer as the popcorn seemed to disappear as fast as we made it!!

The machine is well constructed and comes with a five year warranty, which is important. We had a couple of spokes on one of the wheels that were damaged during shipment and the seller sent out a replacement wheel at no charge the day after I contacted him by email. Quick and efficient response!!

Overall, we are very happy with our choice of this machine and would recommend it to anyone looking to get a very nice looking and functioning home popcorn machine without spending a fortune.

We use the machine all the time now and microwave popcorn is a thing of the past!!

This was a gift for my husband from me and all our kids at Christmas. He absolutely loves it! It is a great looking machine and makes wonderful popcorn. We love the gold rimmed wheels, and the storage compartment in the cart holds all the popcorn supplies perfectly. Easy cleaning was important to us, and this cleans up easily and beautifully every time. We use it at home and over at our church for our Bible Studies and game nights. It is a perfect size for our family, yet handles a crowd with ease as well. All of us are delighted with this purchase!

I have read and agree with the previous 2 reviews, so will try not to be too redundant. I had purchased another machine (different manufacturer) before this one for nearly the same price but it was flimsy, had broken parts, and the stirring mechanism didn't work in the kettle so I returned it. The Paramount Entertainment machine is far superior in every way and the most important way...it actually works! The machine was easy to assemble and we used popcorn kernals and oil rather than buying the pre-packs, but I have used the pre-packs in school PTA popcorn machine and they are pretty handy and flavorful.

Would highly suggest purchasing the cart to store the supplies in rather than just buying the counter top model. Also, the 6 oz popper is a good size - one batch fed my family of six and only took a few minutes to pop.

Also, the machine was carefully packed in 2 boxes, but we had an issue where the door of the cart had the "popcorn" logo printed upside-down. I emailed customer service and they promptly shipped a replacement door. Great customer service! I'm happy with this purchase.

I purchased this on a Monday and it arrived that Friday. It was in perfect condition and fairly easy to assemble. We used it for our grandaughter's birthday party and IT WAS A HIT. The popcorn was great, easy to make and a great addition to the party. I was concerned my husband would be upset about spending the money BUT he loves it.

I first was going to purchase the 4oz size but decided on the 6oz size, great choice!! I think the 4oz would have been too small. The great thing is I almost bought a popper from Sam's Club for twice the money but found this one instead.

Buy it, you won't regret it.

The top is well put together but the cart could be a bit beefier. The tin seems a bit thin. It is difficult to load the popcorn maker with the pre-measured packs but that is just the nature of all of these. It is a good size and pops enough popcorn for 5-6. Love the tray warmer! It was a bit of a challenge putting it together as the thin walls required a little coaxing to get them in line but it seems solid enough.

I bought the black version for our family use and to occasionally trot out during a party or community gathering. For a family use this would be very good. For a large group (say 100 people or more) it doesn't pop fast enough to keep up, so start early.

I may be spoiled, since I've used two Gold Medal poppers in the recent past, and achieved more consistent results; but of course those cost 3 - 5 times what this one does.

Overall it's a good investment and I'm glad we got it.

Pros:
This one and the 8 oz version have warming decks that actually keep the popcorn warm and fresh-tasting. The 4 oz version and many other sizes in other brands lack the heating element in the warming deck, so the 40-watt flood lamp is supposed to do the trick. Right.

The cart has room for most of my supplies, and it is convenient to be able to roll the thing around.

It produces three times as much popcorn as the 48"-high mini-versions, which only have 2 oz. kettles.

The kettle seems to be very solid, and should be replaceable if it ever goes south.

Once you figure out how much preheating, etc. is necessary to get a good batch, it makes very good popcorn.

Cons: This heats a little slowly. I went for this one because my old house wiring is dicey, and I wasn't sure how it would handle the bigger heating element. But if you have good wiring, consider the 8oz version for a few $$$ more. It takes more juice but should heat up more quickly, and you CAN use it for small batches if you'd like.

The cart is a bit flimsy, and the directions show you putting the handle on the wrong end for moving it around. (The handle should be over the wheels.) I'm going to try to reverse the handle and see if the screw holes line up.

It takes a couple tries before you figure out exactly how much preheating, etc. is necessary to get a good batch.

To summarize, this is not a professional or commercial quality machine. But for a home theater and occasional use at parties, etc., it is a good investment. If your house wiring is decent, consider the 8 oz version, just to get faster popping.

I like this machine, but I haven't found a good popcorn yet that doesn't have so much salt and fat. I don't know that I will. The machine is a little smaller than I originally thought, but it is designed to be for the home, not a commercial unit. I like the cart as well, but found it to be quite pricey for the whole unit. It looks nice in our home theater and my hubby likes it. The kids play with it and like to pop the popcorn. The trick is getting them to clean the unit after wards. Overall, it's a fun, good looking, easy to use machine. We are glad we have it.

The confirmation emails were a little misleading concerning some of the details. But at then end of the day, the popcorn machine and stand arrived in a timely fashion and in great shape.

I purchased the popcorn machine as a housewarming gift. Assembly took about 45 minutes with me, the daughter and the four-year-old grand daughter wrenching on it. Everything needed for assembly was provided.

It does make very good popcorn and looks cool in the media room.

We bought our unit in November 2010. Assembly was easy. One thing not mentioned in the instructions was that you have to secure the top unit to the cart using the 4 spring loaded locks under the popper. Also, under the popper (just where the cord exits) there is a screwhead that my husband had to remove. It was causing the top unit (the popper) to rock and was preventing us from using the spring loaded lock to secure the popper to the cart.
We initially had the experience of having chewy popcorn that others had posted even though we followed the directions and used new kernels. After several trials using canola, & peanut oil, regardless of the popcorn brand, we achieved theatre style popcorn by using LouAna Coconut Oil (31.5 fl oz, ~$5.00 in Walmart). Popcorn seasonings were cheapest at Walmart ($1.98 to $2.00 per 3.0 oz).
I've cleaned mine as instructed (pour 1 1/2 to 2 cups hot water and allow to boil 2 mins., repeat as necessary), but after repeating a couple of times and there was still some dark areas at the bottom of the pan, I now clean as instructed only once but add 1 tsp of baking soda to the water, I leave this overnight. It easily wipes clean the next morning.
My only regret? I should have bought the 8 oz. model---it costs a few bucks more but means less work for when company comes.

WORKS GREAT! JUST WISH I WOULD HAVE A GOTTEN A LITTLE LARGER UNIT. HAVE TO DO 2 POPPINGS TO SATISFY EVERYONE. WE ALL LIKE POPCORN.
