The toga/cape is nothing like the picture. It's cheap spandex and cut in a straight line -- the left pec does not show at all. the cut does not cinch at the buckle. and there is a tie in the back which absolutely take away the toga/cape effect. i would recommend just to find a buckle and red sheet b/c it would look much more accurate than this costume.

The costume is pretty decent. This costume is intended for fit individuals or thin ones. Fits snugly on me. The cape is great. The armor is light and needed a bit of adjustments.

The helmet is good as long as you tie the strap a bit and not have a big head. :)

Overall the only con is that is gets a bit hot because of the polyester.

But this is a great "sexy" costume for men. If your looking to get people to notice you and have presence. There is nothing like being a Spartan.

There are thousands of them in the movie (journey follows 300 of them); they can add a few more.

my hubby wanted this costume despite the bad reviews... well, should of skip on this one!
The helmet part will be unusable we will buy a better one whats made of hard plastic instead of rubber),it was folded on half and when You put it on your head it just look very bad :( the robe does look like a dress but we will make use of it, "man" it up somehow. but for the price its allright, for one time use i can live with it :)

Did not use the helmet as it fit strangely and smelled like chemicals-as did the other rubber armor pieces. robe fit fine. elastic on forearm armor needed to be tightened. Knee armor was too short. This is how it fit on me at 6' 145lbs. Beware, if you store it in your closet, it will make the clothes next to it smell like the potent rubber.

This costume is not exactly like the picture, it has a strap on one shoulder that looks like a bra strap and is ugly. I had a seamstress alter the cape and remove the left side seem, removed the bra strap, and added a leather strap attached to the buckle so it looked like a cape, NOT A DRESS.

The rubber shin/wrist guards are cheap and smell, but will do the job for one night, and the straps tore away from the rubber with only a couple times of use. I also, had a custom girdle made from a pair of underwear with leather sown on the outside. Once the alterations were made the costume was awesome. I also used a REAL 300 Sword that I purchased from [...] for only $29 (caution - very sharp). I won the costume contest with this outfit at our annual office Halloween party.
Oh, one other thing I did was use a white headband made from an old T-shirt instead of wearing the cheap helmet, and went as the only surviving character from the movie, I forget his name.

The plastic is really floppy, the wrist guard elastic bands are huge, and to top it off it smells really badly like gross plastic chemicals. Now it's just going to be worn as a joke more than anything

The best thing about the costume is the cape. The helmet is flimsy like everything else, but the cape should hold up pretty well. I would recommend buying a a higher quality Spartan helmet if you want to have a good costume.
