I purchased this twin-size memory foam mattress for my son. This is the second bed I purchased from the SleepShop - the first being my Queen-size bed. To be honest, my son's bed is more comfortable than mine! It has just the right amount of firmness and comfort. I had relatives visit for a few days, and my mother slept on this bed. She is now in California wanting the link to this bed.

I've only had this bed for about 3 months, so I cannot comment on the durability. I can comment on my Queen, which I have had for about two years. The memory foam has torn in different spots, but the blame rests primarily on us: we have moved three or four times in these two years alone (the Army is busy!), Trust me though - the tears have not affected the performance of the memory foam, and to this day, the bed still retains its shape.

My original review was written 4/20/2009 - over two years ago. Since then, I have moved twice. This bed has been more than durable - it still looks and feels like it's brand new. The firmness and memory-foam qualities are still the same. My son still loves this bed. I think it's helped a lot with giving him a good night's sleep for the past 2+ years - he hasn't woken up once complaining about being tired.

My original queen (now about 5 years old) is still in use - none of its elasticity is missing. Also, as mentioned earlier, my mom wanted the link to this bed, but we ended up getting her a full-size one last year (also from SleepShop). Having suffered from car accidents before, she often complained of constant backaches in the morning. After receiving her new bed last year, I have yet to hear of her having a sore back, or requesting a back massager as a present - coincidentally, things she talked about when she had her old box-spring mattresses.

Altogether, I've probably spent less than $1,500 on three of these memory foam mattresses (queen, full, and twin sizes). It's well worth the investment, and I'll definitely be buying another twin for my youngest son shortly.

I've spent most of my teenage years up late at night on all kinds of assignments and late night gaming sessions(I was a kid!). This has left me with irregular sleep patterns that never fully normalized until I purchased this mattress 364 days ago. The purchase of this mattress has eased my tensions when I try to rest and allows me to drop into a coma for at least eight hours of good restful sleep. This was an amazing buy when it was nearly forty dollars more expensive a year ago and it's done wonders for my posture and health while I work and go to college.

Some other important details such as odor and firmness of the mattress should also be highlighted. The odor of the mattress dissipated within a couple of weeks for me and hasn't returned. The mattress itself is firm enough that you don't have to worry about spilling a drink on it if you leave it on the bed(I wouldn't recommend this) and soft enough to really let you unwind after a bad day. My weight as a male at a maximum of 265 lbs a year ago(I've lost 40 lbs since) never became an issue with this mattress either.

Buy this mattress. You won't regret it.

Before I purchased this mattress, I read how memory form mattresses can have a chemical odor, especially those home delivered in vacuum packaging. How true. It's been a couple of weeks and the order is still there. Buying in the winter wasn't a good idea either because I can't open the windows. I did bring it outside four times during decent days (I don't see any bugs outside in winter) which helped a little. If it weren't for the odor I'd give this mattress a 4 star. The quality and price are good and it is comfortable. I was afraid it be too soft but it's firmer then I thought which is a plus. I hope in the spring when I open my windows I can give this a 4 star, but for now, I have to go with 3 stars.

I ordered this mattress for my son's twin bed. I have never ordered mattresses on the internet before, but for the price of this mattress I thought I gave it a try. When the mattress arrived it was all rolled up and vacuum packed. I was able to carry it and layed it on top of his bed. Once I opened the package, the whole mattress just expanded. I was impressed. My son loves the mattress and it feels and looks like similar memeory foam mattresses I looked at in the store for a fraction of a price. I am now going to order one for our Cal King Bed. I would recommend it 100%.

I've waited 3 weeks to write this review to make sure it would be as accurate as possible. I was prepared for the smell by all of the other reviews. It was REALLY overwhelming for a few days. If you buy this mattress and you have the option, I would strongly recommend letting it air out in another room for a few days prior to sleeping on it. The odor was considerably less noticeable after about a week. I stopped smelling it as soon as I walked in the front door, and then I didn't even smell it when I walked in the bedroom. It is still faintly there though, the sheets pick up the smell and hang onto it. I don't notice it when I'm in the bed though, I have to actually sniff the sheets to know that it's still there. It's not a big deal though, it's faint enough now that it's not a deal breaker.
I was convinced that I needed a firm mattress, as I've been experiencing back pain for awhile. I was concerned that the memory foam might be too soft, but I think it's actually a little more firm than I would have liked! In hindsight, I'm wondering if the mattress with 5" of memory foam might have been a better option. And this is coming from someone who really didn't think they would like the cradling effect of memory foam! But now I actually wish it cradled a little bit more. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely not a hard mattress though and the support is great.
Another concern I had is that the memory foam would make me hot, as I tend to put out a lot of heat when I sleep. This has not been a problem AT ALL.

While this might read like a negative review, I just wanted to be thorough. I read through all of the reviews for this mattress a few times prior to placing my order. It's a big step to purchase something as important as a mattress online, w/out the option of seeing it or laying on it first. So the more information the reviews have, the better!
My back has been feeling better on this mattress than it was on my old worn out inner spring mattress and overall I am very satisfied with it.

UPDATE
I had to come back and change my rating and review. I would not buy this mattress again. It's comfortable enough (though I still think it's a bit too firm for me), but the smell has not gone away, and I've had the mattress for 2 months now. On occasion, I actually do still smell it when I walk into the bedroom. If you like the smell of clean sheets on your bed, then this isn't the mattress for you. If I put on clean sheets in the afternoon, by the evening when I get into bed, the chemical odor has already taken over. I don't know why I didn't take all of the other reviews that mentioned the strong odor more seriously prior to purchasing.

This bed is extremely comfortable. My first reaction was it is a little on the firm/sturdy side yet forms to your body once you apply pressure.. I think it will get a little softer later too. It's not quite as soft as a memory foam pillow but it is WAY better than my old saggy, broken spring bed! I put it on my old box spring and literally threw my old one in the dump truck!

Helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep awaking more refreshed and with less head congestion. Contouring to your body it helps cradle your shape putting you in a deep coma-like sleep. Sometimes I do feel like I am actually floating when I am drifting off and "sleeping on a cloud."

I would give it a 4.5 but since I can't I guess I will give it a 5 because I would Highly Recommended for anyone who needs all the help getting to sleep they can get. It arrived fairly fast but had to wait 5-7 days for shipping because it was so big.. It arrived all nice and wrapped up.. then once you take the plastic off it it pops up almost like a pop up bed which makes things nice and easy. There was a rather strong "chemical smell" but I didn't really mind and it's almost gone now (1 week later)

The paper that come with it says it has 20 year guarantee to retain at least 90% of its comfort now that is quality!

I have a problem with hip and shoulder aches from sleeping on my side so my husband purchased the twin Deluxe 10" Memory Foam Mattress for me for a Christmas gift, at my suggestion of course. Amazon found this mattress and at the very best price! Well i have had the BEST sleep thanks to this mattress and Amazon for leading me to it! I have minimal aches and a few nights i actually slept the whole night through. Well i really think my husband wanted to use me as the guinea pig because he has back pain, one, because he sleeps on his stomach and two, more so because his regular mattress has sunk. He has been propping it up in the middle by mounding old blankets between the gullied out mattress and the box springs. Even that has not helped him much and feels like he is sleeping on a camels hump. Well he called it quits and has actually let go of a few bucks and told me to order him the exact same Deluxe 10" Memory Foam Mattress for his twin bed. He is more than satisfied with the good nights sleep he has been getting! I was glad to be the guinea pig & so was my husband.

Very happy with the product as delivered. It came rolled up and is about 60#'s. I stripped off the plastic shipping material and it expanded to its original shape with the 2 hours as the instructions stated. There was no noticeable odor as some have claimed. This mattress is for my child, but tested it out one night myself. Firmness, good. I did not get "hot" as some have claimed with foam mattresses. I feel very confident in my purchase. If my opinion changes, I will update my comments.

I bought this for my daughter when upgrading her mattress. She absolutely LOVES it, and when we have to stay in hotels, she tells me that she misses her bed. And for good reason! I sometimes sneak in and take naps on her bed myself when she's not around. We've since moved to the UK, and shipped this mattress with us. My temperpedic mattress was awesome, but I would trade in for this one in a heart-beat if it was available in the UK. It's cheaper and much more comfortable.

It IS solid foam, though, so make sure to have a water-proof mattress topper just in case. :-)

my first online mattress that I purchased and I'm happy with it!!! There is an odor which you will notice right away but it goes away after a week. The bed is firm medium which is perfect for my preference. Since I've had this mattress only for a week I can't review on the durability of this bed yet, but right now I'm 100% satisfied.
