This is a great window perch. Don't pay full price for it, but at just over $20 it's a good buy. Very easy assembly, no holes in the walls or sill required. Very stable. My cat loves it, massaging it with his paws sometimes. He jumps up on it from the floor, no problem. I like that it's not sticking out into the room to far, but because it's wide kittie has space to stretch out and lounge. I can definitely recommend it. In fact, I'm ordering a second one and just regret that I didn't get two right away.

When we ordered two of these window perches, we were not sure if our cat would like them, but figured it was worth a try. The perches came two days after we ordered them (fast shipping!) and each took about 4 minutes to install. We didn't ahve to cut any holes int he sill or drill anything to the wall, it was so easy. :-)

Within minutes of the first perch's assembly, our cat spotted it connected to the kitchen window. He didnt know if he should jump up on it or not since it was only a few feet away fomr the table and we always freak out when he goes in the table, so my fiance picked him up and placed him on the perch. he immediately started to kneed the perch and purr loudly. He tried rolling over on it, but it isn't big enough for him to roll completely over on.

Now, almost every evening when my fiance and I come home from work, we walk in to find our kitty fast alseep on his perch. We installed the second perch in our computer room, but only allow our cat to go in there when either my fiance or I am with him because the fish tank is in there. When one of us is in the computer room working, our cat hops right on that perch and settles down for a nice long nap.

The perch works great, except for one thing...I don't recall it ever mentioning how deep your window sill needs to be. We have narrow window sills (with those stupid crank windows) and we had to modify the product...with a saw...to get it to work for us. The sticky tape was in an inch or more from the edge of the perch, which meant it wasn't on the sill at all for us. We had to trim the board and notch it for the central post divide between the vertical panes on these crank out windows.

This is fantastic for cats who love to sit in the sun and look outdoors. My cats love it and it is easy to assemble and take apart! The outer layer comes off for easy cleaning. Must have for all cat owners

Eventually -- at least in dry, dry southern California -- the adhesive strip securing the perch to the sill will dry out. At this point, down falls kitty, and if she's young she'll just land on her feet and glare at you and scamper off to lick her dignity.

But BEFORE that, she'll have several years of being a happy couch potato on the windowsill, watching birds and passersby. I have gotten one, replaced it when it fell down, gotten another, and replaced it. Each one lasted 3-4 years. The adhesive leaves a little sticky residue on the windowsill but it can be removed with some effort and/or rubbing alcohol.

Alternatively, if you have an older cat and don't want to risk spraining something worse than his/her dignity, you may want to nail it (the shelf, not the cat) or use a stronger adhesive such as superglue.

Oh, yeah, the washable cover is handy.

I decided on this perch after reading reviews of it and others window perches. It works well even when our two one-year-old brother and sister cats jump on it. The cover removes nicely for cleaning, and it hasn't harmed the wood sill.

UPDATE:

I had to move this perch to another window but couldn't find any industrial-strength Velcro to replace the used Velcro on the first window sill. I carefully removed it and it was so sticky it stuck to the other window sill. I left it on the sill without the perch overnight, then attached the perch the next day, and my cats have been jumping on and off it with no mishap for about a month now. I'm impressed with the Velcro included with the perch, although I'll need to find it somewhere for the next move.

I bought one of these perches for my 3 cats & they began fighting over it as soon as I put it up. So I bought a second one & they are all happy now. It is soft & securely fastens to the window sill. They spend hours sitting & sleeping on them -- it is one of the best kitty items I have purchased!

I had to return the product because even after following the instructions exactly, it kept on falling off the windowsill. My cat weighs about 10 lbs and everytime she got on it, it would fall off. Not strong enough for a average size cat. Wouldn't go with the velcro adhesive type again.

The concept here is good "no tools needed" to install. The product itself is well made, but the velcro tape does not adhere to the windowsil like it is suppose to, the perch keeps falling down and the cats are afraid to use it. If there were clips or screws on the perch it would be much better.

I prefer the cheaper window perches because even though they are not plush they do the job and do NOT fall down.

This is a nice soft window perch. My only problem with it, is that the sticky velcro does not come sticky enough to stay on the window sill. I had to use some very powerful tape to reinforce it.
