We were terribly disappointed to spend all the time it took to help our grandson build his first pinewood derby car only to find out that the paints in the kit he needed to put the finishing touches on his car were completely dried out. We bought the kit because it was a complete kit with everything we needed to build the car in the short time we had to get it done before the race. When we discovered the paints were dried out we were down to the wire with time and had to run out and spend additional time and $$ to buy more paint.

I suggest the manufacturers be more diligent in rotating stock and destroying old kits knowing that over time all paint dries out. Customers should be able to purchase an item with complete confidence that they're getting what they pay for.

I was in a hurry to get the items needed for my sons pinewood derby. We had a great time putting the car together, but when it came time to paint it the paint set included was totally dry. Of coarse I could not return the item, we had already cut the car and the derby was a couple of days away. Anyway, save the money - buy the regular kit and get some paint at the store and have fun - we did.
