Cut the rug... or set it on fire!,

This review is from: The Deluxtone Rockets (Audio CD)
Let's get one thing straight: this is not 1930's-jazzy-Benny-Goodman swing. Deluxtone Rockets is driving-drum-beat-blaring-horns-Brian-Setzer-inspired-knock-your-socks-off-it'll-blow-you-away 1990's swingabilly. I'm sure you've heard the W's (The Devil is Bad) or the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (Zoot Suit Riot) - DTR makes them sound tame. If this music doesn't make you want to dance or at least tap your feet, you are not human. Every member of the band has talent up the wazoo, and they get plenty of solos to show it off. My favorite tracks are Tijuana Jumping Bean, Green-Eyed Cat, Johnny in the Mirror, Rumble with the Devil, and Kitten. This seriously could be the best swingabilly album ever.

This is an enjoyable cd. Not as high energy as I would like but.... it has great art work!

the stray cats live!,

If you like swing, you can't afford to miss "The Deluxtone Rockets". Rock and roll guitar lycs combined with traditional swing brass give these guys a distinct "swingable" rock and roll sound that makes you wanna jump, jive and bang your head.
