I heard the gospel piece on the radio today and had to get this album. If nothing else, just for that tune, it's worth it. I am a former professional jazz musician and am usually not fond at all of vocalists unless they are superb (such as Bobby McFerrin, Billie Holiday, Phoebe Snow, Etta James, Ray Charles, et al) in voice and originality. Carla Cook definitely meets all the criteria for me, and then some. If she doesn't stop, expect her to be as large a name in jazz as there is, at the top. Superb CD, very diverse, by jazz standards, as well.

Carla Cook.This is a great CD with excellent songs. I have played this CD more than twenty time and enjoy it more each time. I highly recommend it for listening purposes and a way to make one feel good. I have added this Cd to my IPAd and take it with me on my frequent travel experiences. I would appreciate a list of all of Carla Cooks music. Thanks. Amazon verified purchase.

This lady "Carla Cook" is truly someone special, her vocals are incredible!!! She only has 3 CDs out currently and I am anxiously awaiting her next effort. She does Jazz standards and anything else she attempts is on the money. Purchase any one of her CDs and I bet you will get the other two...she IS that good! You will not be disappointed with any of her CDs.
