About the Author

Born in Denver, Colorado as a part of a large family. I had three older brothers that would make up stories to keep me quie and get me to sleep. I WISH I COULD REMEMBER THOSE STORIES. As a member of the U.S. Navy, I discovered that Dragons were still alive in the minds of some civilations. I spent a lot of time reading about them for the next twenty years. One night in Bakersfield, California, I was having a tough time going to sleep. The stress of my job had started taking a toll. I decided to write a book. My mind said, WRITE ABOUT DRAGONS.

Many late nights later, I finished the book. I found out I did not really know much about the subject I was writing about. Alot of research time was used up before the book was finished.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Demise of a Dragon, December 26, 1999

This review is from: The Demise of a Dragon: A Work of Fiction (Hardcover)
The story is fantasy, with some well known literary names: i.e. Merlin is the main character in this book. Sigrud is the Dragon Slayer. The problems they must overcome before meeting with the dragon are many. The handeling of each situation by the unlikely pair, make for an entertaining reading. The book is short in length, but long on morals and duties. The book is out of print. Amazon Books has found a scource for three hundred books at the home of the Author. Immediate shipment can be expected..

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting concept, March 24, 1998

This review is from: The Demise of a Dragon: A Work of Fiction (Hardcover)
This book is very interesting story about the famous Merlin and a Dragon hunter that team up to kill the last dragon. But the problem is that the dragon is the source of Merlins power. Why would Merlin help the dragon slayer...well, find out for your self! Merlin must visit many other characters which all could have separate stories of their own. The story is more reminiscent to a Greek epic poem than of todays stories, which is refreshing. Ewing is very imaginative and would be great to listen to around a camp fire and although the story is not exactly for children, they would probably enjoy it.
