Book Description

DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans uncovers the truth about how corporations have bought the American electoral and legislative process through the power of lobbyists, campaign contributions, and political action committees. Using historical details, such as the development of the two-party system and the advent of third-party candidates throughout U.S. history, DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans exposes how the two major parties have allowed corporations, businesses, and politically-motivated wealthy individuals to manipulate elections, bribe elected officials, and silence the average American voter.

Exposing the ineptitude and gang-like mentalities of both parties, Ventura advocates the replacement of the two-party system with a no-party system based on the ideals of our Founding Fathers. As election time rolls around, this is most certainly the book that should be looked at for reforming our electoral system.

One is not enough! Jesse Ventura now takes on BOTH political parties!

Get ready for a No-Holds-Barred attack on the political monopoly of two-party politics in America and the fact that they have a stranglehold on our political system, not to mention their very intentional EXCLUSION of other parties and Independents. It's now a big game being controlled by the FATCATS, Folks. And YOU CAN'T PLAY unless they let you in.

The two political parties behave exactly like GANGS who have taken over a neighborhood. In fact, the book's title is a reference to precisely that; the Bloods and the Crips who, also fought each other for decades, wreaking havoc on their turf. Republicans and Democrats have done the EXACT SAME THING. Only, in this case, they have TAKEN OVER OUR COUNTRY.

I had the great pleasure of reading an advance copy of this book and let me tell you, it pulls NO punches.

The book details and documents how our electoral and legislative process has been taken over through a corrupt process of lobbyists and campaign contributing by corporations and the wealthy. Let's call it what it is, just like Jesse does, BRIBERY.

But the book also details the way OUT of this mess, a NO-party system replacing the Two-party system, REWARDING INTEGRITY instead of ineptitude and cronyism. THAT WAS THE WISH OF THE FOUNDERS of this country and this book shows us how to get it!

You know that nice feeling you get, when you finally hear what you know is the truth, spoken loudly and clearly. You get a ton of that with this book. The quotes in the book are fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Telling it like it is July 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's never popular to come out and say that things stink. Jesse Ventura , no matter what you think of him, did a good job of presenting the information that was available to him. DemoCrips and ReBLOODicans is written in an easy to read style that reveals an author who has had a wealth of experiences in his life and at the same time has been able to put enough things together to come out with an excellent book.

Courageous and pointedly blunt, Ventura is a beacon of light in a world darkened by cover-ups, disinformation, and flat out lies.

DemoCrips and ReBLOODicans is worth the price of admission.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth is inside this Book. July 21, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Excellent book on todays political environment. Tells it like it is. Most Americans have no idea how the government is run. Most of us are simple minded beings and just want to live a decent life. But, the elected officials vote for laws that are unfair to the majority of the people. And laws which are for the people, have a hard time getting passed. If you think these new laws are for the people, then i ask you the following questions:
1. Why are we still using the pound and inch measuring system. We should be on the metric system.
2. Why are their so many guns and bullets available to USA citizens. It is barbaric for so many weapons and bullets available to the public.
3. We are double and triple TAXED by are government. Your home or house should not be taxed. Several nations do not tax its citizens homes.
4. Do we need are armed forces in 200 different nations? What are we, the worlds police force. This costs billions of dollars each year.
5. Why are there homeless and uninsured Americans? Must be a joke on us. This nation is so rich, we give billions of dollars away to other nations.

This book helps explain what are politicians are really about. They are about greed and power period.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and insightful July 13, 2012

Jesse Ventura has an amazing level of intelligence and I believe he has the mindset of most Americans, the difference is he is not afraid to express his mind. The information (and factual) that he presents in all of his books are mind blowing. I think every tax paying, voting citizen should read this book (and his others) and clean out the crap we have allowed in DC for years. We (the American people) have allowed our country to be in the position it is because we keep voting the same people in office. The first thing we need to change is term limits for all of our State Reps, Senators and Congress people.

Mr. Ventura, I appreciate your candor and your information. And if you decide to run for the office of President, I will personally help run your campaign here in Kansas!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars finally the truth about politics July 14, 2012
Altough i've never been an avide book reader, this is one book that I am pleased to have purchased. This a book that everyone SHOULD read before the upcoming election. Before I bought this book I thought it may be just one guys opinion but at the end of every chapter he includes notes as to where the information came from. When I started to read it I thought this may have been a mistake to buy it. I was SO WRONG as after the first chapter I wanted to learn more about what is going on in this great country. This is a highly recommended book

More About the Author

Governor Jesse Ventura served as the 38th governor of Minnesota from January 4, 1999, to January 6, 2003, but he is more than a politician. In fact, he doesn't like being referred to as a politician at all. Before entering the world of politics, he served his country as part of a U.S. Navy UDT team (the forerunner of the SEALs), won fame as a professional wrestler, worked as a bodyguard for big-name rock and roll acts like the Rolling Stones, and had roles in major motion pictures, including "The Running Man" and "Predator."

Governor Ventura first entered the public eye in the mid-1970s as a profession wrestler, gaining fame for his physique and wrestling as Jesse "The Body" Ventura. He wrestled until 1984, when blood clots in his lungs ended his in-ring career. After a failed comeback bid, he worked as a color commentator on television for "All-Star Wrestling" and later "Superstars of Wrestling," hosted his own talk segment on the WWF's "Superstars of Wrestling" called "The Body Shop," and did color commentary on radio for a few National Football League teams (among them, the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Ventura most notably co-hosted "Saturday Night's Main Event" with Vince McMahon and the first six WrestleManias (1985-1990).

Ventura's acting career was a natural extension of his television work. He appeared in "Predator" (which starred future California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger). He had a starring role in the 1990 sci-fi movie "Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe," and had supporting roles in "The Running Man," "Demolition Man," "Repossessed," "Ricochet," "The Master of Disguise" (in which he steals the Liberty Bell), and "Batman & Robin." Ventura also made a cameo appearance in "Major League II" as "White Lightning" and appeared as a self-help guru (voice only) in "The Ringer" trying to turn Johnny Knoxville into a more confident worker. In addition, Ventura had a cameo in "The X-Files episode" "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" as a Man in Black alongside fellow 'MiB' Alex Trebek.

Ventura ran for governor of Minnesota as the nominee for the Reform Party of Minnesota. His campaign consisted of a combination of aggressive grassroots events and original television spots using the phrase "Don't vote for politics as usual." He spent considerably less than his opponents (about $300,000) and was a pioneer in his using the Internet as a medium of reaching out to voters in a political campaign. He won the election narrowly--and unexpectedly--defeating the major-party candidates, Norm Coleman (Republican) and Minnesota Attorney General Hubert H. "Skip" Humphrey III (Democratic-Farmer-Labor).

Deciding not to seek a second term in office, Ventura left the political arena, but continued to speak out about the issues he cares most about. He taught a study group at Harvard University as a visiting fellow at the Kennedy School of Government's Institute of Politics in which he focused on third party politics, campaign finance, the war on drugs, and other relevant political issues. He has written two books since leaving office, both with Dick Russell, "Don't Start the Revolution Without Me!" and "American Conspiracies." He also writes and hosts the television series "Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura," which airs on TruTV.
