Editorial Reviews

Review

“This is a must-read for everyone who values our nation’s bedrock principles. What Obama is trying to unilaterally impose on the American people is nothing short of regulatory tyranny. Phil Kerpen breaks down the Obama administration’s regulatory onslaught and shows those of us who love the Constitution what we can do about it.”
Mark Levin, bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio host

“Phil Kerpen offers both a warning and a lesson about a radical minority and its concerted efforts to control the lives and voices of all Americans. Democracy Denied is a literal guidebook on the progressive game plan—now it’s up to us to heed the warning.”
Glenn Beck, #1 New York Times bestselling author

Democracy Denied demonstrates how President Obama is packing federal agencies with handpicked liberal activists who are rewarding campaign allies, punishing opponents, and pushing the failed Keynesian fiscal policies Americans rejected at the ballot box in 2010. Phil Kerpen’s must-read book provides much-needed solutions to the unaccountable bureaucrats who seek to control what cars we drive, the foods we eat, and even the lights we use.”
—U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina)

“Obama is on a mission—to conceal his socialist record behind a veil of moderation. Phil Kerpen pierces that veil and shows the Obama beneath. He has broken the Obama code.”
Dick Morris, Fox News contributor

“President Obama has sought from day one to bypass elected representatives in Congress and impose his liberal agenda by regulatory fiat. This unchecked regulatory assault is draining the lifeblood from our economy and eroding our liberties. Phil Kerpen’s book is an excellent tool for anyone seeking to understand the consequences of regulatory tyranny and the story of the REINS Act—the most important reform that, if passed, will restore accountability and balance to the regulatory process.”
—U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky)

“You know Team Obama is up to no good, but you don’t even know the half of it. Phil Kerpen takes you inside all the back rooms and back doors that these left-wing power-grabbers have used to subvert the will of the people—and trample the rule of law. Democracy Denied exposes you to the true size and scope of the Obama regulatory Leviathan. Kerpen’s comprehensive research will make your blood boil and stir you to action.”
Michelle Malkin, Fox News contributor and bestselling author of Culture of Corruption

“The American people are the most innovative in the world, but they are being held back by the Obama administration’s extreme regulatory agenda. Phil Kerpen cuts to the heart of this problem and shows us the path forward.”
—U.S. Representative Mike Pence (R-Indiana)

“Federal regulations have the slippery tentacles of an octopus strangling businesses, families, and workers. Democracy Denied exposes the threats to economic freedom from Barack Obama’s gang of unelected regulatory zealots.”
Stephen Moore, senior economics writer and editorial board member at The Wall Street Journal

“The Obama socialist juggernaut is attempting to ride roughshod over the will of the people, skirt existing laws, and sideswipe the Constitution. In Democracy Denied, Phil Kerpen masterfully articulates the challenges we face, and, most importantly, provides common sense solutions and strategies you need to know.”
Jerry Doyle, nationally syndicated radio host

“As an elected city official, I have seen firsthand how the federal regulatory racket hurts local governments, citizens, and businesses. Phil Kerpen does an excellent job exposing abuses and offering constructive solutions to rein in the autocracy of unelected regulators.”
Erick Erickson, Editor of RedState.com

“Phil Kerpen has accomplished the impossible: he’s given us a rousing polemic against President Barack Obama without being polemical. He exposes Obama’s hidden agendas with take-no-prisoners investigative spadework instead of conspiracy-theory guesswork. And he shows us from the forefront of the battle how to stop Obama with no-nonsense legislative and political strategies that any citizen can help with.”
Ron Arnold, Executive Vice President of the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise, and bestselling author of EcoTerror

5.0 out of 5 stars How Obama Is Bypassing Democracy, Congress and YOU October 9, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Phil Kerpen has a warning for you, America. He wants to alert you to the fact that Barack Obama is using his powers to create regulations to undermine Congress, ignore voters, and "radically transform America." But Kerpen also has some good news. There's a way to stop this left-wing assault on our country. You can find out what that something is in his new book, (...) How Obama is Ignoring You and Bypassing Congress to Radically Transform America -- and How to Stop Him.

Kerpen has an uphill battle to beat back the war that has been launched against America. Why? Because the way our country is being torn down is happening in the most subtle way possible. Worse, it is all being done with such ersatz legality, a legitimacy so seemingly ironclad, that most Americans are completely unaware of what is happening. And when they are aware of it they imagine there is nothing wrong with it all.

That and the way this destruction is happening is not the sort of glamorous outrage that makes for exciting news coverage. In fact, it's quite dull. After all, the way the country is being undermined is through long-winded, legalese-filled, opaque regulatory changes. Red tape. Underhanded, jargon-heavy rules, quietly implemented without fanfare or the light of day revealing them for that matter.

Like I said, Kerpen has an uphill battle not only to alert Americans to what is happening right under their very noses, but to excite them enough to do something about it.

Through the bulk of his book Kerpen outlines the way that Americanness is being smothered in paper with the thousands of pages of new regulations that Obama is weekly churning out from his administration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every citizen should read this book! October 15, 2011
By Kb Cook
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Having read through the first several chapters, I find that I know little of the machinations of this president & his administration in denying the people of the USA their due and rightful freedoms. I consider myself "up & running" on the civic issues but this book pulls back the curtains on the deeper things of these issues. Buy a dozen & give them to your closest friends with the instruction to pass the book on to their own friends when they finish reading.

Democracy Denied is the topic of this week's Always Right column in the Chicago Sun-Times Southtown Star regional.

It's not easy for those of us from Obama's backyard to read Mr. Kerpen's expose about what Barack Obama's administration is doing through the regulatory system and below the radar to radically change America and quietly destroy our freedoms.

Democracy Denied is painful to read, but it's not only an eye-opener, it's a soul searcher. The people of Illinois owe America and the world an apology for allowing Barack Obama to rise to the place he is today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Companion to Michelle Malkin's Culture of Corruption October 14, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Phil Kerpen writes eloquently while plainly laying out the case against a very corrupt Obama administration. Knowing all the details of how the Obama administration has tried to avoid the results of legislation will make you sick. They are using the executive branch to bypass Congress and the judiciary. They are expanding their power and because Democrats ran the House and Senate, there were no checks on this unprecedented power grab.

Buy this book. You'll learn about the problems this administration has caused, but more importantly, Phil Kerpen will show you the legislative solutions. It's an informative and positive book that will help you be a better voter and citizen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and persuasive must read. October 6, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Democracy Denied is an excellent read on the Obama Administrations abuse of power. Whether Card Check or the Cap-n-Trade Energy Tax, see how this administration is circumventing the voice of the American people. Phil Kerpen gives a great assessment of how this will impact democracy in the United States for generations to come. A must read for patriots!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Insight! October 5, 2011
Format:Hardcover
This book presents a great picture of how out-of-control regulatory agencies have become in recent years. I like how it is organized by presenting a different policy area in each chapter -- it really shows you just how wide-reaching this problem has become. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for the Tea Party October 7, 2011
By Vinnie
Format:Hardcover
Anyone who feels their taxes are too high, the government is too intrusive in their lives, or has the slightness concern with the overreach in Washington must read this book.

Phil Kerpen's debut book "Democracy Denied" manages to fit almost every major issue affecting Americans today into a manageable easy to read novel. Kerpen takes agencies in the federal government to task, showing how unaccountable bureaucrats are trying to over-regulate even the smallest aspects of our lives.

What is more impressive then Kerpen's narration is the fact that the author himself is at the forefront of the fight to end the extravagances of the Obama administration. The book serves as a blueprint for those who wish to join his struggle and bring liberty and free markets back to America.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly fact-driven November 6, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
What I appreciated most about this book was that it was fact-driven. Every point that was covered in this book can be backed up and has been cited in the book. This is NOT one of those books where an author makes a claim but has no proof. It is straight-forward in showing how the Obama Administration is purposely trying to change our country from a constitutional republic to a socialist state. After reading this book, there is no way that anyone can say that Barack Obama is inept or in over his head. I only hope that he can be stopped before it's too late.
