This review is from: Democracy (Audio CD)
Snowblind was a UK-based AOR/melodic rock act formed in the mid 1980's and featuring Lionheart vocalist Chad Brown. They released a single self-titled album in 1985, but the members went their separate ways before a planned second album could be released.
Democracy is a collection of demo recordings and other previously unreleased material. Because this is demo material, the sound quality is quite poor. You get the sense that there are some good AOR/melodic rock songs here, but they're buried under the subpar recording quality. Majestic had the same problem with their Medusa demo collection. One thing the album does have going for it is its extensive liner notes, which provide plenty of detail about each recording. In the end, Democracy is really going to interest only the most die-hard Snowblind fans, and I can't imagine there are enough of them around to justify this collection. I ran across a cheap used copy, so it was worth what I paid just to satisfy my curiosity about the material. AOR/melodic rock fans interested in checking out Snowblind are much better off with Majestic's reissue of the band's self-titled debut album.
