This is a compilation of essay put together by the editors of Journal of Democracy. I enjoyed the different points of view who disagreed on certain points but concurred on many of the major issues. I read this for a graduate course along with History of Modern Russia by Robert Service, Russia at the Polls by Christopher Marsh and used Contemporary Russian Politics by Archie Brown.
