A book that keeps you thinking or makes you start to think!!!

That may be a fact, but she didn't mention that 70% of African-American, law-abiding citizens came from single-mother households.

I really felt like washing my hands with hot water and soap after handling this book.

Although I any not agree with most of their beliefs, I respect Republicans. They are good patriots and their heart is in the right place. It is just that they are allowing the wrong TV channel to poison their thoughts. And even worse books. Such as this one.

Apart from the inflammatory title (and I had not heard such lame line since my elementary school days! What is next? "We are blue rubber, you're red glue"?), ANN COULTER's book never takes off. Sure, an evil, throaty buh-ha-ha here and there but even her heart isn't into it - why should anybody else's?
I guess she knows that, once more, she is preaching only to the choir. That is why if one were to squeeze the pages of this book, there would be enough vitriol to poison, say, a mid-size Kurdish town. That also is why this book is a only a compilation of recycled older material, collated randomly and with no purpose other than push some more paper to her fans.

Is this the best answer to Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart? Honestly?
The GOP controls the White House; it controls the Supreme Court; its control of the media has made the Democratic congress to self-castrate; yet, they could not possibly have a worse image. Ever wonder why? (yes, apart from the war, the tortures and vetoing poor children's health care). LACK OF REAL HUMOR!

Lack of humor is indicative of lack of perspective and perceptiveness. Lacking that will eventually get you in a youth-grinding war-for-the-oil. With no ground to stand on. As a last resort, the likes of Ann Coulter are called in.

You have heard Bill O'Reilly shout and swear when reality does not agree with him? Insulting, biased, illogical and picking fights only with the weakest targets?
Well, this is the bland blond book version.

A doubt that any thinking Republican would enjoy this. Let alone a Democrat.

BUY THIS BOOK AND THE TERRORISTS WIN!

I'm probably Ann's biggest fan, but this is not a real book. It is a collection of quotations from her earlier books and other sources. While the idea of providing her enemies a reference volume so they can quote her more accurately is fun, it makes for dull reading. The best parts are the introductions to each section that are new materal.

Conservative saleswoman of the year, Ann Coulter, believes that if Democrats had brains, they'd all be Republicans by now.

Looking for a laugh? Here are some of my favourite lines (from her book of quotations) you'll be reciting for years:

1. My favourite: "Scratch a `civil libertarian,' find a fascist." -page 4

2. "Liberals will pass laws to protect children from `secondhand smoke' but not from being doused with poisonous saline solution or having their skulls crushed in the womb." - page 38

3. "Guns are our friends because in a country without guns, I'm what's known as `prey.' All females are." - page 125

4. "Morality matters, not polls. In 1938, the polls were not very strong for doing anything in World War II." - page 138

5. "Luxuriating in the warmth of mainstream media admiration, liberal saints get crazier and crazier. They're "beloved," we're `divisive'." - page 183

6. "People who say `everybody does it' are announcing nothing more than the implacable fact that they do it." - page 211

7. "Alger Hiss is the epitome of liberalism: long on Ivy League credentials. Short on character." - page 198

Funny and searingly controversial, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans challenges the much-ballyhooed "Golden Age" of Clintonism too. Connecticut's Confucius says (page 61): "What actually happened during the Clinton presidency? No one can remember anything about it except the bimbos, the lies, and the felonies. Fittingly, in the final analysis, Clinton will not be remembered for what he did as president, but for who he did." I'll say.

I'm a product of the 60's but am proud to say that I am well on the road to recovery from my knee-jerk, liberal past. Liberals are bent on laying waste to the very traits that made us great and I do not understand their vested interest in the failure of the U.S., as it is akin to sinking the very ship in which we are sailing. Ann Coulter can be over the top but finding humor in the arrogant, narcissistic liberal elite (who see only victims and incompetence) is only natural, and she is the proverbial breath of fresh air. Liberals tend to be so utterly arrogant that they refuse to hear the snickering behind their backs. Anne's laughter should get their attention.

"If what I say is so outrageous, why don't they quote me accurately?"
- page 80 (Hardback edition)

Since she burst on the political commentary scene in 1996, Ann Coulter has been both adored and hated for her sarcastic conservative comments. With no attempt being made to hide her right-wing bias, she is unashamedly blunt about her views, often coating them in biting repartee. It seems that each time Coulter opens her mouth (or posts another column on her website), the mainstream media screams that she's "done it this time!" Yet her books are bestsellers, and she continues to be published. As she points out, if she's so over-the-top, why are people continuing to read her work?

In her sixth book, "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans," Ann assembles a collection of her most famous quotes, columns, and interviews on subjects from airport security to taxes, and everything in between. Each chapter contains a brief commentary on the subject, followed by a collection of dated quotes illustrating her beliefs and opinions.

I must admit that, in the past, I have stayed away from political non-fiction. As a conservative Republican, I have found much of it to be in disagreement with my personal views on matters, and I like reading as a way to escape the seriousness of my everyday life. But as I thumbed through a copy of this book at Borders a week ago, I knew I had to read it. Coulter's wit and humor make the book a fast read, and her comments are intelligent enough to get you thinking while funny enough to make you laugh. And, while I can't say that I agree with her viewpoints on everything, I agree enough to have made this book worth my time.
