Here is the CD that first got me interested in collecting movie soundtracks, particularly action/adventure movies. The music is just as intense as the movie and you get to hear a lot of extra sounds that you probably wouldn't hear while watching the movie unless you listen very carefully. Only a small number of tracks are slightly more than three minutes long but the composer still manages to make a gigantic bit out of a little bit. The spirit of John Spartan (Stallone) the Demolition Man rings true.

Some listeners might find the random percussive bumps and crashes during the fight scene tracks annoying; in some spots it sounds as if Goldenthal has this incredible urge to drill it into our minds that this is an action movie with a lot of violence and suspense and that the audience is supposed to be on the edge of their seats. But I recommend this CD especially if you want something completely random to listen to.

I am very disappointed this title is unavailable. I'm an avid Elliot Goldenthal fan. His music is brilliant. A lot of people don't credit Goldenthal's brilliance. This is very likely due to the fact that most of it isn't easily accessable. It takes a lot of listening and thought to figure out. Demolition Man and Interview With a Vampire represent Goldenthal at his best. His music is violent, seductive, and totally exhilirating. I hope to hear it for many more years. Mhalky Chris.

This score is clearly one of Elliot Goldenthal's earlier compositions. It sometimes is a noisy collection of orchestral eruptions mixed with synthesized rythms, most of the time it is a superb collection of orchestral power with or without synthesized rythms!
In the score we can already hear Goldenthal's inventions he later used for Interview with the Vampire, Batman Forever and Final Fantasy. It is a MUST for the Goldenthal fan.

It deserves to be said that each track has its own atmosphere. Some are gothically dramatic, others ingeniously but gently tense and again others are slightly comical (as in Batman Forever). Two tracks or so are right out techno-like noise.

A score that is at first hearing crude, but later on it will creep under your skin as one of Goldenthal's finest style works!
