5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Drizzt?
I found this book awe inspiring, for any true fan of Salvatore's this is a must read and if you are just a fantasy fan you can't go far wrong with this master piece. The book folows many twists and turns from hope to dispair and back again taking the reader along for the ride. The book lacks nothing and wets your appetite for the next adventure. 3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been Better!
This book or Trilogy for that matter, in no way compares to his previous works! But it does make for some light fantasy reading. If you enjoy the style of Salvatore, this is one that you realy should not miss. The protagonist is not overly developed, and the reader certainly does not make that connection like in the Drizzit novels, but who can top that! Anyway, I do...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Drizzt?, September 14, 2001
I found this book awe inspiring, for any true fan of Salvatore's this is a must read and if you are just a fantasy fan you can't go far wrong with this master piece. The book folows many twists and turns from hope to dispair and back again taking the reader along for the ride. The book lacks nothing and wets your appetite for the next adventure. Salvatore has shown us that he still has the ability to write a great adventure after doubts sprung from the continuation of the legendary Drizzt saga which is beginning to spiral out of control. The book follows a well structured path which leaves the reader spending countless hours turning page after page with no realisation of time. I would recommend this book to anyone and would challenge the opinion of anyone who doubted its originality.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent conclusion, January 25, 2000
By
Christian Olmstead (Kansas City, Missouri) - See all my reviews
The Demon Apostle is one of the few books that went beyond what I expected it to be. Salvatore is an excellent author and has always excelled at writing about action and the way a character thinks, and The Demon Apostle is no exception. With the conclusion to the Demon War trilogy, I believe he has written a brilliant conclusion to a series that is as unpredictable as it is exciting. This is without a doubt the best in the series, and I would recommend it to every fan of fantasy.

4.0 out of 5 stars END IT!, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
While I tremendously enjoyed the premise of the Demon Wars trilogy, I wish RA Salvatore had ended it. I knew I was in trouble when I neared the end.

Leaving the ending so obviously unconcluded was a big let down. I wonder when the next trilogy will start? And more importantly, when will it end?

5.0 out of 5 stars Demon Wars part 1, July 26, 2006
This is Salvatore at his best. Fans of Drizzt will love the Demon Wars Saga. Salvatore takes fantacy and intertwins politics, church and amazing character development. There is something for everyone in The Demon Wars Saga. I highly recomend this book to any one who needs an escape from mundane reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars What will become of Corona?, February 9, 2002
By
Jason (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews
I must say that I am not exactly a true fan of the fantasy genre, in that I have read only one other trilogy, that of the works by an Australian author Tony Shillitoe and his Andrakis Trilogy. I must say that they were the first "can't put it down" novels that I had ever read and so spurned an interest in these ficticous tales(He's not the most well known author though I have no idea why however I highly recommend these books to any who might come across them).
Thus I found the works of the Demon Spirit and the Demon Apostle, and found them to be truly the most enthralling story I have come across(As yet I have not read the Demon Awakens but mean to). This thrilling conclusion draws more toward the conflict involved in the politics and religion of Corona, rather than that of the battlefield, as opposed to the second and so I've heard the first one.
Though as enchanting as it is, the disappointment and saddness is also as strong. I grew quite attached to the ranger, almost from the moment he was described in the second installment and was quite supprised that such a strong charater would be elimenated from this saga which is to continue(Ascendance is almost out when I write this). I feel that the remaining characters including Pony after she was unable to control her rage in Palmaris, are not strong enough to continue a solid plot, especially with the evil which lies in the soul of perhaps the most powerful and strongest creature in all of Corona(Imagine if he learned to master both bi'nelle dasada and the gemstone magics!).
Pony for me while she definately has good intentions in mind, at times seems to let rage and anger get the best of her, making her seem rather weak, and that's the difference between her and her husband whose calm head stopped her from getting into foolish situations many times(look what happened when he wasn't there to stop her in Palmaris). The only possible solution to that is perhaps the introduction of new charaters which has to be the plan as well as any enlightenment Pony might find in connecting with her husband spiritually.
It looks like being quite a magnificient adventure and while I anticipate new characters to filter in where the perished left off, I still keep a glimmer of hope that somehow the elvish trained warrior might be restored to life even if it is in the last chapter of the last book of the second trilogy, perhaps with the use of a new gemstone?(Remember the dead chilichunks?) I mean there's got to be some happiness in all that sorrow, and Nightbird's death almost seems to be for nothing in that the evil creature still lives.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book..... but what about the ending??, August 16, 1999
Once again, RA Salvatore has written another great trilogy!! The final book of the Demon Wars Trilogy had all the characters show who they truly are. Salvatore is great about writing about characters you come to love and enjoy. The only drawback I had about this book is the ending. I won't tell you what happens but its not the "usual" Salvatore ending. It seem to me that he was pushed for time to publish this book and threw together an ending. Its only an opinion but overall the Demon Apostle was excellent along with the Trilogy. Keep the books coming Bob!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Yet another great book., July 14, 1999
By A Customer
This was a remarkable book, I think that it was one of his best yet. But one thing that bothers me, Elbryan.........can't help, his son........is evil, the strongest man in the world is still alive and evil, the Elves will perish soon, and Pony is the only one left, I don't know how Salvatore is gonna write his way out of this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A strong conclusion to the Demonwars Trilogy, June 24, 1999
By A Customer
I actually read the Demon Apostle quite some time ago, but never got around to reviewing it until now. So... To start with, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and consider it to be the best of the series. There are a number of reasons but my main one is this; for once, the fight scenes were not in excess. I like them, don't get me wrong. But sometimes I wonder if I would miss anything if I skipped over most of them. (Well, I would miss about 1/4 of each of the previous books, but little in the way of plot) Now, all that said. This book changed all of this. The fights were there, but only when necessary. This book concentrated a lot more on the parts that I felt made the previous books good. Specifically, the politics and intrigue of the Abellican Church. There's nothing quite like a crisis of faith to make one appreciate that faith even more. One of the biggest changes in this series as opposed to earlier ones is the fact that characters aren't invincible. Even main ones. Though I won't get into any more detail than that, I will say that I really appreciate it. A part of good storytelling is making your characters mortal. Over all, this was an excellent book. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. (Thus far, only Tolkien gets 5) Cheers,

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, ending shaky, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
i have read all the demon wars books, and i still think the 1st and 2nd are the best. now dont get me wrong, this was a great book, with the same pull-you-in feel that wont let you put down the book. i liked the way it was ending until the last two pages. i cant belive that happend! and the end of the epilouge was a bit off too, even though it opens the way for morein the series. it would ghet 5 stars if you-know-who hadn't you-know-what

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, April 8, 1999
By A Customer
This book is really one of Salvatore's best so far. It has everything that his fans have come to expect from him. And I really think that the strenght of this book is his ending. At first it may look weak, But by looking a little longer you will find that it's not the case. What append to the heros of this book will never append to the dark elf and is friend. When a read a book about Drizzt I dont fear for him. I know nothing will never append to him. Gods could appear before him and he will kick ther ***. Bruenor had been dead and now he live, Wulfgar had been dead and now he live. Atemis Entreri had been dead and now he live. Drizzt will never die so dont fear for him. BUT NOW WE KNOW. We know that bad thing can append to our heros. So now we will care for them, we will fear for them, because we know that they are not invincible and I love that.
