Book Description

"I would tear the world apart for Rio. Would you do the same for Royal?"

Royal disappears. He is a demon with inhuman abilities who moves between worlds at will. He could be anywhere. He leaves me a clue that takes me to Bel-Athaer, home of the Gelpha, but the High House councilors kick me out.

I'm going back in. I'll find the mysterious Seer who sent Royal a message, and while I'm there I'll do my damndest to save the young High Lord from the Burning Man and find the boy's missing companion, and at the same time elude assassins who are after my ass.

I need backup, someone as strong and fast as Gelpha. Of all the shit crazy things I've done, returning to Bel-Athaer in the company of a Dark Cousin and an egotistical Gelpha is high on the list.

I won't tear a world apart, but you can bet I'll turn it on its ear.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great payment to many of the ongoing mysteries July 1, 2012
By Debra
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Reveals about Gelpha, Dark Cousins, and even humans are woven together into a satisfying gift to the readers who have been reading the series. It really is wonderfully and creatively done. Linda Welch has quite an achievement in creating a fresh, new universe, that is really original. Also we get to know Tiff much more, and Gia is along, with her brand of mystery. I definitely recommend this book. The only distraction was the writing before chapter 1. It is written in a different voice, coming off like a super syrupy romance novel, where men are talking in ways men don't talk. Past the initial bit the story grabs hold of you and doesn't let go, until the last page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost a 4 star August 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say that I owe the author an apology. As I was getting to the end of the book, I thought perhaps she was confused as to how to end it. I was a little frustrated with how it seemed to end and then start up again. I figured 4 stars for a jerky end to the book. But the actual ending made up for it as it was a something I wasn't anticipating. All in all I felt the book was every bit as good as the first three and I am now starting the 5th.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best of the series so far June 14, 2012
By Gwynn
Format:Kindle Edition
What a delightful series this has been to read. Imaginative and funny, the books do a good job setting up a world different yet not so very different from our own. It has taken a few books, but in this one we finally get to learn more about Royal`s world and tie up loose ends left after each previous book. `

I particularly like the way the author set up the tension so well right from the start. I was sweatung bullets as Tiff searched for Royal. Glad to see Tiff starting to mature in how she handles her relationship and one big surprise that threatens it. Boys, a bit of advice, a little communication goes a long way. Read the book and you will fgure out what I mean!

5.0 out of 5 stars another winner in this exceptional series December 19, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
For all of you who have read the first 3 books, we finally get some answers to the mystery surrounding Tiff, the Gelpha, and the Dark Cousins! Yay <G>. Linda shows us a whole new part of the Bel-Athaer world we had no idea existed. I was also happy to see some more of my favorite self-centered Gelpha, Christopher Plowman. While some mysteries were wrapped I am looking forward to the next book and what direction it will take from here.

For those of you who haven't read the other 3 books, I suggest you start with book 1, Along Came a Demon. The first three can be read out of order if need be, but this book would spoil the mystery of the previous ones. The writing in this series is top notch. The romance is sexy, but not overwhelming and the plot and action are thrilling. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST BOOK SO FAR IN A DYNAMIC SERIES June 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First, I have to say that I'm preplexed, flabbergasted and annoyed that some readers apparently have a problem with this book because it finally gives Tiffany and Royal's romance the attention and gravity it deserves and for which many fans of this series have waited. One reviewer goes as far as saying the book doesn't need sex to sell. Well, pardon me for liking romance and believing it adds to the story rather than distracts. Besides there is absolutely nothing graphic or blatantly erotic or vulgar depicted in this or any of the other books. I guess some people have to have something to complain about. Futhermore, there are by far more mystery books out there that don't have a shred of romance in them. Go read some of those an allow those who do enjoy a little PG-15 romance with their mystery to at least have a few books to read. Gosh! Whew, I feel bette! LOL. Now the review.

Thus far, this is the best book in the series. This one has it all. Multi-layered mystery, action, adventure, humor, suspense, intrigue and, YES, ROMANCE. I adore Tiffany and Love and Lust after Royal! Chris is even growing on me. The story moves along at a good pace never losing it's edge.

Those who have been frustrated to know who or what the "Dark Cousins" are will finally get there answers here. Personally, I'm glad the Author didn't reveal the answer to this mystery sooner. It was unique to have a mystery that ran throughout the series. It's done in TV series all the time.

This book was a delight from beginning to end. I think the books should be read in order to understand and really appreciate what's going on. I don't think any of the book make a satisifying stand alone read. But I may simply be biased having read them all up to this point.
The price is excellent as well. THANKS LINDA!!!! Buy it, Read it; ENJOY! I'm off to read the next book in the Series. Book #5 Demond On a Distant Shore. I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

4.0 out of 5 stars Unique Blend March 25, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I like the charisma of the characters. The text also has a unique plot. Some of the vocabulary is higher level. My favorite genre is Mystery. This combines Mystery and Fantasy superbly. If you have an imagination and an open mind, you will enjoy Linda Welch's clever writing.

Better then the last. Finishes the basic story arc which includes Tiff's real origins and the relationship of,the various people she has meet. Mostly predictable, but a fun read.

More About the Author

Linda Welch was born in Hampshire, England. She lived in Idaho, California and New Mexico before settling in Utah. She now lives in a mountain valley, more or less halfway up the mountainside, with her husband and Scottish terrier. Unlike Tiff Banks, the heroine of Linda's Whispering series of paranormal mysteries, she is not tall and white-haired, and does not see demons. What she does see are moose, deer, raccoon, skunk, wild turkey, a huge bird population and a ridiculous amount of snow. When not writing and depending on the season, she is usually tending to the Scottie, filling the bird feeders, futilely attacking the weeds in her garden or shoveling out after a snowstorm.
