Book Description

July 31, 2012
Shy, self-conscious Evie Douglass tries to stay under the radar, especially when petite socialite Meredith Starr Peterson, aka The Death Starr, is anywhere around. Meredith and her bitch posse of skinny girlfriends have tormented Evie about her size since seventh grade. Unfortunately, it's hard for a plus-sized gal to stay invisible in a small town like Hannah, Alabama. And then Evie finds Meredith brutally murdered. Suddenly, she's the number one suspect in a sensational murder case. Worse, Hannah is infested with demons, and the only thing standing between them and Evie is a hunky blond demon slayer named Ansgar. Evie could swear, though, that Ansgar is interested in more than demons. She could swear that he's interested in her...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bless her heart... August 2, 2012
By Jskinz
Format:Paperback
A fast fun read, whose action and wit never stop. Hannah, Alabama is filled with all types of Supernaturals, and odd ball humans. This series should have tons of books. The author of the novel, which is book two in the Demon Hunting In The Deep South Series has clearly been influenced by (or ripped off) The Southern Vampire Mysteries, and all things Bon Temp. If you love Sookie Stackhouse, you'll definitely like these books.

4.0 out of 5 stars I gave it 3.5 stars August 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
I seem to be doing this a lot lately but I read DEMON HUNTING IN THE DEEP SOUTH before realizing it was the second book of the Demon Hunting series. Honestly I had no clue, there were some instances where characters refereed to some stuff that might have happened in a previous installment but I was never lost and felt the the story as a stand alone was good.

Evie has amnesia when it comes to her past with Ansgar but you quickly realize that they were made for each other and are better people together. There was some lost relationship building due to it being book 2 but If I had read book 1 I wouldn't have felt like that so I wont deduct stars for that purpose alone. I enjoyed the secondary characters, it was my first time meeting them of course but I had no trouble feeling like I got to know them. I really enjoyed Brand, Ansgar's brother and Addy, Evie's best friend and might go back and read DEMON HUNTING IN DIXIE just to read their story. There was a nice bit of Demon fighting action towards the end but most of the book was investigating and trying to figure out how to prove that Evie didn't kill her bosses wife. I enjoyed watching Evie come out of her shell as the story progressed and there was a great amount of humor thrown in around every corner.

DEMON HUNTING IN THE DEEP SOUTH was a fun, easy read. Lexi did hint at what might be coming in future books. I think I have a good idea who the book might a involve and I would continue the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars If Fannie Flagg wrote paranormal... July 31, 2012
By Laurel
Format:Paperback
Y'all. This book. Okay, not to be too spoiler-y, but seriously. There is an episode with and ex-stripper, a trailer, and an injudicious application of bacon grease. If that isn't enough, there's a belle from hell who gets herself offed and proceeds into afterlife therapy, which is apparently a lot like real life therapy in that if the patient is not an active participant then they don't progress. Because she is one bitchy ghost.

There are the usual PNR suspects: hot warrior men, demons, faeries, and a heroine who underestimates herself. But the telling of the tale is southern fried hilarious. In fact, I missed the first one but went back to order it as soon as I finished this one. If you are an urban fantasy/paranormal fan, the elements that attract you to the genre are all here. If you're not, I think you could still enjoy this book. Go ahead. Click "Buy Now." You know you wanna.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, Modern Slayer, sort of.
The hero couldn't be more hunky and seriously lacking a sense of humor, but he pulls it off.
I recommend the next book in the Demon Hunting series.
