Book Description

March 8, 2010 Sisters of the Moon (Book 6)
We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we're savvy-and sexy-operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Camille is a wicked-good witch whose magic is as unpredictable as the weather. My sister Delilah transforms into a tabby cat at the worst possible times. And me? I'm Menolly, acrobat-extraordinaire-turned-vampire. And if the nerds from hell don't get their act together, I'm going to turn their toga party into a bloodbath...Life's getting stranger by the minute. First, Iris and I unearth a diary from one of the bartenders at the Wayfarer who disappeared under mysterious circumstances. And when I discover a ghoul in the woods near our home, we know there has to be a necromancer nearby-another sign that something's wrong. But the blood really hits the fang when we discover a secret society bent on winning Shadow Wing's favor. Now it's up to us to stop the chaos they've unleashed on the city and to prevent the demon they summoned from devouring Delilah's soul.

About the Author

Yasmine Galenorn is the bestselling author of two urban fantasy series: the Sisters of the Moon series and the Indigo Court series. She has also written mysteries for Berkley Prime Crime, as well as nonfiction metaphysical books. Her books have hit the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists numerous times. Yasmine has been in the Craft for over thirty years, is a shamanic witch, and describes her life as a blend of teacups and tattoos. She lives in Bellevue, Washington, with her husband Samwise and their cats. Cassandra Campbell has recorded nearly two hundred audio books and directed many more. She has been nominated for and won multiple Audie Awards, as well as the prestigious Odyssey Award. She has received numerous starred audio reviews in both Publishers Weekly and Library Journal as well as thirteen AudioFile Earphones Awards. Cassandra was also named a Best Voice by AudioFile for 2009 and 2010.

From AudioFile

Demons are rising, and evil is loose in the city. The D'Artigo sisters (two half-Faeire, the other half-vampire) are intent on identifying who is torturing and killing women. Cassandra Campbell's narration demonstrates an affinity for the sisters, particularly Menolly, who is the main character and narrative voice for this story. Campbell brings out Menolly's humor and toughness--she does not suffer fools gladly. Campbell also delivers the graphic language and sexual content matter-of-factly. Prior experience with the series is recommended as it would provide context for the sisters' role as agents for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. She's also written a paranormal mystery series (the Chintz 'n China Series) for Berkley Prime Crime, a short-lived mystery series (the Bath & Body Series) under the name of India Ink, again for Berkley Prime Crime, and eight metaphysical nonfiction books (Llewellyn Publications and Crossing Press).

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite paranormal "romance", June 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
With so many authors doing ripoffs of more well known authors and other writers just devolving to sex and shock, I love getting new Otherworld books. Yasmine's reliable. She tells a good story with a plot that needs resolution, antagonists and protagonists that kick butt and her world is well thought out even though she's juggling 3 very different main characters in this series and does each sister's voice in first person.
My favorite sister is Camille because I identify most with her, but after this second arc in her Otherworld series, I'm really starting to love Menolly a lot more too, and this book was just perfect.
Menolly finds the diary of a previous fae bartender which makes her wonder what happened to her, she finds out she disappeared, at the same time, there is a new demonic threat that's attacking the fae and attacks her sister. With the help of her sisters and a lot of great male characters, they find out what's going on and kick butt.
So, this description sounds like it could be another popular series? No. The men are not arm and eye candy, they are strong in their own right, and Menolly is not sleeping her way through them. The whole series handles relationships in a matter of fact way instead of trying to titillate and shock you with them. It's part of what I love about it so much, it's more mature then that. The focus is on the story and how the relationships affect the characters and the story.
Start with the beginning and read through to the end. This series clued me into her books and she's a solid mystery writer. Clues and information to find things out instead of stumbling into answers accidentally and her skill at weaving the stories make them very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars demon mistress, June 9, 2009
Narrated by Menolly, "Demon Mistress" is the 6th entry into the Sisters of the Moon/Otherworld series. This series seems to really be hitting its stride, & I glad that I have stuck with it from the start. I enjoy Menolly's no nonsense point of view, & this entry made me like Menolly even more. I was so very glad to see a dictionary in the back of the book to aid with remembering the world that the author has built.

There are 2 plots that weave together nicely, one involving a missing Fae & vampire & the other a secret society of young men who have been summoning demons. Of course, the sisters work nonstop to make right the havoc that the society has caused, & Iris, Maggie, & the sister's lovers & friends are all in the mix. I really have grown to love this motley crew, & I hope there are many more books to come in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars super urban romantic fantasy, June 4, 2009
In Seattle, Menolly D'Atigo still adjusts to being a vampire while working with her sisters Camille the witch (see DRAGON WYTCH) and Delilah the shapeshifting Death Maiden (see NIGHT HUNTER) for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. However, while cleaning the bar where she works, she finds fascinating items left behind by the elf bartender who returned to Otherworld. A diary the elf kept insists he felt he was stalked and implies he may have been killed instead of going home.

However, while Menolly considers what to do, a new radically different demonic assault begins to absorb the life force out of the fae. There appears no counterattack to prevent this threat from succeeding and evidence mounts that a quisling human group is abetting the demon Lord Shadow Wing.

The latest Otherworld urban romantic fantasy is a super entry as Menolly leads the charge this time. Once again there is a ton of support players allies and villains that make the well written numerous subplots even more complex. Fans will enjoy the latest D'Atigo sister's take on their adventures as this time the trio tries solve the mystery of the bartending elf while also attempting to keep two worlds safe from the demon horde.
