More About the Author

Kiersten Fay is the author of the steamy romance series, Shadow Quest, in which she combines paranormal and sci-fi with loose concepts from lore and mythology. In 2013, her short story, Racing Hearts, was published in The Mammoth Book of Futuristic Romance. In 2012, via gravetells.com, she won Favorite Story of August 2012 for Demon Retribution, the third book in her Shadow Quest series, and received a nomination for favorite author in that same year. Before becoming an author, Kiersten worked as graphic designer, and now loves creating her own book covers.

While fully intending to continue her popular Shadow Quest series, she is currently working on a new dark fantasy series called Creatures of Darkness, set in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires openly mingle with humans, featuring magic, witches, vampires, and whatever else she decides to throw in.

Demon Possession is a very well written exciting adventure with a cast of colorful characters. It's a great start to a new series I look forward to reading. Demon takes place in a vibrant world in outer space giving it a very sci-fi feel. I'm not usually convinced by other worlds in space, it's not my thing, but the author did a great job making it realistic and fun. The hero/heroine relationship started out tense (which I love!) then grew to scorching hot! The pace is set well, read the first half in one sitting. Loved it, can't wait for the second in this promising new series - (Dave's wife)

REVIEW:
I haven't read a good science fiction fantasy with some awesome steamy romance in a long time; Demon Possession was a great debut for author Kiersten Fay.

The story starts of with a bang, the lead female character Analia is trapped on a ship that she calls The Hell Ship. And she is right, used and enslaved on the ship by its horrible captain Analia will do anything to get away. Luckily a merchant ship comes in and become her only way out of the hell.

This ship is far different than the one she has lived on most of her life. The crew is cheerful and the captain...oh the captain is down right sexy. Sebastian is from a demon race where the males have horns and females have tales. He is every bit a good captain but his temper is always up and down and even more so with the sudden appearance of Analia.

The characters are so entertaining a really well written, each with such different personalities that everyone will connect with them. There is humor, action, and different alien species and of course some really hot romance.

The captain not only has his crew but his brother and sister along for the ride as well. Sonya and Cale are key characters to the first book and I know will be even more in the second. Sonya is spunky and tough as nails, where Cale can take down anyone with just a look. Loved these too.

The romance...Oh wow. Can I just say the scenes between Analia and Sebastian were not only steamy, they made you blush, smile and wish you were in Analia shoes. Sebastian is smoking and Analia is a whole bundle of desire for him.

The plot was a great idea with a lot of potential but it's really let down by its lack of world & character development, inconsistencies and really, achingly simplistic and utterly basic (unbelieveably so at times) mistakes in spelling, grammar, use of vocabulary (e.g. saying "weather" instead of "whether" several times!!!) and formatting.

The sheer (not "shear", Kiersten) number and variety of these mistakes was mindboggling, quite incredible. And unfortunately it really detracted from the experience of reading an otherwise passable book. I've read professionally published stuff that has worse problems than those I've outlined below, but never one so amateur in this, most basic of departments.

Now the story is good and full of interesting ideas; the characters, though a bit one dimensional, are likeable - together this pulled me along to the finish despite my growing frustration.

Overall I enjoyed it, but I know it could have been so much better with a decent editor to help the author pull it together more and rip out a lot of the clunky prose and repetitive over-description, tighten up the dialogue so it flowed more naturally in places.

And for the love of all that is holy my dear, get someone to proofread!

I'm not one to write reviews, but when I find as good of book as this one, I want to tell people about it. It sucked me in right from the beginning and I didn't want to put the book down. I won't go and summarize the book as some, but let's just say I can't wait til the next one in this series comes out. I am definately buying it and any others. This right here is why I like trying new authors and so should you. I especially love a good romance when there are steamy scenes, funny characters and a great storyline. Keep up the good work Kiersten and I will be waiting for the next one!

Maybe you're like me? Tired of the increasingly repetitive tortured demon/vampire meets (sometimes ridiculously) naive "mate"? Desperate for something new and unique? This is the book! I was, quite literally, hooked from page one! I've never written a review for a book before and I won't even try to be as eloquent as the others who have reviewed this book. But I so enjoyed it I had to write something. I have recommended this book to my friends and I encourage all who are gasping for a breath of fresh air in an increasingly stagnant genre to read this book! I (im)patiently await the next book in the series!!!

I actually liked the story but the editing was SO BAD, IT WAS DISTRACTING BEYOND BELEIF!!!!!!!!!! If you are going to charge us 8 dollars for a book then have the courtesy to have your book edited!!!!!!!!! Words like asilentwithered or warmthSebastianpul do not exist last time I checked !!!!!!!! So for the love of god find out what the space key is intended for and USE IT! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH HOW MANY TYPOS THIS BOOK CONTAINED! There are at least three run on words and many spelling errors on EVERY SINGLE PAGE.
