This review is from: The Demon Rake (Kindle Edition)
I have read many Gayle Buck books via kindle. Her books are sometimes very strict in terms of conforming to Regency customs and behavior; sometimes they are not. This book was not strict, and in fact, it was way off the mark in some instances. I had to put many historical facts and other issues aside in order to enjoy this book.

I did like the heroine and the way she stood up for herself w/o coming across an anachronistic "feisty" woman. The hero was okay. I could see why the heroine was attracted to him and how they eventually fell in love. However, he literally introduced himself to her as "The Demon Rake". That was just too ridiculous and silly for me to put aside, so I always saw him as being slightly ridiculous.

There were many characters in the book. Sometimes, it was hard to keep clear who was whom and how they were connected. The writing was okay. It definitely dragged towards the end, and things could have been wrapped up before they were. Overall just an okay book. I paid $4 for it and feel that was a bit too high.
