Editorial Reviews

"Another hit from Eve. I just can't get enough of her evilly delicious characters and the outrageous circumstances they find themselves in." - says CaroleDee of Bitten By Paranormal Romance

"Eve has a unique sense of humor that tickles my funny-bone every time! Her brand of funny is twisted throughout her tales and in no way distracts from the hottness. Because those sex scenes are smokin!!!" - says Close Encounters With The Night Kind

From the Author

She sneezed behind him. "Ever hear of a Swiffer?"
Flinging open a cupboard, he grabbed at the linen stuffed inside, almost threadbare but dry. "Dusting is woman's work."
"Showing your age again, old man."
He'd show her old. Whirling, he tossed a dry cloth at her and, as she caught it, undid the fastening to his soaked plaid. With a shrug, he dropped it to the floor.
She ogled him, probably because he gave her something to ogle. Hands on his hips, erection jutting forth--a mighty one he'd not experienced in centuries--he smirked at her. "Does this look old to you?"
"Ack! I'm blind. Old man dick alert. Cover it up." She protested with her mouth, yet her eyes remained locked on his bare body. He swelled to an even mightier size. "Good grief. Just how big does that thing get? Should I duck and cover before it explodes?"
"Do ye never stop talking? I swear, lass. Ye chatter enough to drive a man insane. If I were your husband, I'd gag you." A subtle thrust of his hips let her know with what.
She clamped her lips shut, but interestingly enough, she didn't turn away. Nor did she blush. Brazen wench. Still naked, he strutted past her, feeling more than seeing her turn to watch as he knelt before the cold fireplace and tossed a few dry logs in. A strike of flint and he coaxed a flame to life.
While he'd taunted her into silence, he found he missed the dulcet mockery of her voice. He also wondered what she did behind his back. Did she rub the coarse linen over her delicate-skinned body? Did she stand naked in his home, still damp? Her mouth still defiant? Wearing only those decadent snakeskin boots?
If he swelled any further, it would probably explode like she jested. Attempting to act casual, he turned around and almost groaned in regret as he noted the threadbare linen covering her, sarong style. The wet lump of her toga hit him in the chest.
"Hang that by the fire, would you? I didn't bring a spare, and I refuse to escort you back wearing a rag." Head held high, her imperious tone and attitude begged an answer.
"I am not your servant." He flung her robe into the snapping flames at his back then smirked at her screech of rage as her toga sizzled.
"What did you do that for?"
"What part of I don't have anything to wear did you not grasp, Scot?"
     "My name, lass, is Niall."
"And mine is Aella, not lass. Use it or--"
     "Or what?"
"I'll rip your tongue out and feed it to the carrion birds."
"I'd like to see ye try." He dared her. Purposely. She growled, and her eyes narrowed to the merest slits. Her whole body vibrated with irritation.
He'd never been so turned on.
With nothing to lose, he decided to see how far he could go. He tread toward her on bare feet, entering her personal space, crowding her. She held her ground, glaring, lips tight. He saw her hands tense at her sides, ready to respond to whatever threat he planned.
But he had a different kind of assault in mind. One of his hands darted forward and clasped her by the wet ponytail hanging over her shoulder, and he yanked her to his bare chest before slanting his mouth over hers.
For a moment, she held herself rigid as he let his lips slide over hers. Then, she bit him, hard enough to draw blood. He chuckled softly. "So ye like it rough? Lucky for both of us, so do I."

More About the Author

~ New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

Hello, my name is Eve and I am a Canadian author who loves to write hot romance, usually with hot shifters, cyborgs or aliens. I should warn you that I possess a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing.

I love to write, and while I don't always know what my mind is going to come up with next, I can promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because I love a happily ever after.

Thanks so much for coming by and checking me out. If you'd like to know more, read some excerpts or find out what's coming next, then please visit me at

More matchmaking from Lucifer means more fun for me, and I really do enjoy this series. Here, Lucifer manipulates the situation to get one gruff Scottish vampire fixed up with a beautiful, kickazz lamia demon. Able to shift into half-snake/half woman, Aella wields a double-edged battle axe and tongue, while the surly vamp wields some fang and a large, lusty sword, of a sort.

What I liked about this vamp is that Niall isn't obvious hero material. Really, you could say that about any character in this series. They are over the top, shameless, and even bloodthirsty characters, but Niall especially stands out with his bearded hairiness, dirty and in serious need of a bath, and even when cleaned up, he's not handsome, but he is fearsome and rugged. He also needs a kick start to the arse in order to get out of his rut. With Aella, this stubborn Scot has met a woman who gives as good as she gets. Centuries of moping and drinking are upset when a yellow-eyed demon walks in the bar and makes him start living and feeling again.

It's instant sexual chemistry, with the author's usual zingy dialogue and verbal foreplay. The sex is raunchy and a little rough, with some biting included. This is no suave Don Juan we're talking about here, but Niall does have his sweet moments, too, and I liked him and Aella together. The romance is quick to action, the sex hot, and the story fun, light and easy to read. I like to read this author when I want to feel as if a book gave me a smile and hug. And a saucy wink. Not complicated, more a sexy, fluffy read.

I never thought I would like golf but suddenly I’m interested in not playing but watching from the sidelines as Niall struggles with his past and teaching Lucifer how to improve his game. Unfortunately for Aella, she’s the one that has to go and fetch Niall before this can happen! A mix-matched pair that soon has sparks flying and passion soaring while they both pretend there’s nothing serious going on! I LOVED this one, by far I think it’s the best one of them all. It sadly ended way too soon and while these are older books I do hope Eve Langlais decides to continue writing them! Full of laughter, passion, and suspense these stories have you turning the book over to see if there’s more!

And yes, people, there is something hotter than a Scot in a kilt. Try an irascible, horny vampire Scot in a kilt. The downside is that this one is taken by his own hellish, hottie of an ax-wielding lass so you'll have to go find your own.

“With ye, I don’t want your land or money. I don’t need power or prestige. I just want ye. I love ye, Aella. I love it when you’re angry and outspoken and killing things. I love ye when ye claw my back to ribbons and scream to wake the dead. I love that ye are not meek or mild, or willing to let others make your decisions.” “Even if it does drive you mental and I need to have the last word?” “Because ye do those things.” “So we’re stuck together forever?” “And ever.” “Seal it with a kiss?” she asked with a sensuous smile. Her Scot did better than that. He made short work of their clothes, his powerful hands ripping them from their bodies while she laughed, a young, girlish sound, carefree and wanton. Eve Langlais (2013-07-24T14:03:10+00:00). A Demon and her Scot (Kindle Locations 1740-1747). Kindle Edition.

The Welcome to Hell series just seems to get better and better with each new series installment. This was hands-down my favorite so far. This author is the paranormal romantic comedy boss.

Lucifer sends one of his best hunters, the demoness Aella, to locate the best golfer ever to help him improve his golf game so he can win aka cheat his way into the winner's circle for the upcoming once a century golf tourney among the gods. A disgruntled Aella heads out armed to the teeth to bring back the Scot in question. She's not impressed with her first view of the male that practically lives at one of the most seedy bars in Hell, but has obviously skipped on the hygiene in his centuries-long depression.

Enjoyed this book and really liked Aella. She's a warrior minion of Lucifer's and shes VERY good at what she does. She's a spitfire and feisty! She's a unique demon but she didnt get that way on her own thanks to Zeus's wife Hera. You have to read it to know what I mean. :) Nialls was kinda a unique character. Definitely different he's a Scottish Vampire...yep vampire is what he chose when sent to hell. He was a Laird who was wronged by his new bride. They both have commitment issues and trust issues. He's a dirty boy and I mean that literally when we first get a glimpse of him. Hasn't bathed in a couple centuries? Ew. This totally grosses her out when she is sent to find him for Lord of Sin himself to improve his golf game...yes he is still on that stupid game! LOL. Then he's also a dirty boy in that hes a perv and lusty....he's Scottish so no surprise there. Ha. He's a jerk to her at first because he likes her and he doesnt want to drops her on her ass literally after their first romp. Pisses her off but shes in the same boat. She hates him but not really. Its actually humorous a bit. Lots of sex and denial of feelings. Its a roller coaster ride for sure. Can't wait for Hells Kitty which I am reading next oh Filipe...:)
