Product Description

Suit up with the Demon Snow Shield Short to reduce the side effects of your constant carnage in the park. Snowboarding is a full-contact sport if you do it right, so slide on this short with its built-in thermo-formed foam covering your thighs, legs, and tailbone. Removable dual-density hip pads protect the most protruding part of your pelvis (well, most of the time) and Lycra and spandex construction ensures that the Shield Short is snug and won't inhibit your spins, butters, and tweaked grabs. Tie the lace in the waist and gear up for a day of pushing your riding without pushing your tailbone into your spine or breaking a hip, which would drastically increase your old man status.

I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm a beginner snowboarder and was looking for a shield short that would protect my tush and hips during the inevitable wipe outs without feeling like I was wearing a diaper. You barely notice that these shorts are on. In fact I put them on at home now and they're comfortable enough to wear on my 1hr drive to the mountains.

Bottom Line: Great protection and great comfort that does not impede movement.

Highly recommended.

These shorts are worth the money! They are comfortable to be worn all day and they arent bulky at all. The tailbone padding is pretty thick and it works. The rest of the padding was thinner than expected though. If you aren't falling then you aren't learning. These shorts make a day of snowboarding much more enjoyable.

I got this product as an upgrade to slider shorts, for use in both snowboarding and paintball games. To be honest, it has not been field-tested yet but this is what I can share from it's initial fit: 1) I wear size 34 jeans and this medium size felt rather tight, even after loosening the front strings (yes, dropping another 10-15lbs would help too). This is a fair tradeoff because the slider shorts were size L and in the middle of a game, they would feel like they were dropping, 2) They are rather warm but this should be expected for protective gear, 3) The raised, padded areas increase the profile but are fairly concealed when wearing ski pants or loose fitting cami's/paintball pants. On the positive side, the coverage is perfect against side and back falls (snowboarding or paintball). I really like the raised padding. Just by pressing on the pads, you can tell they will absorb a large variety of impacts, even direct ones. There is decent protection in the lower tailbone area and since I plan to use this in the snow and in light woods, it is perfect coverage for the type of falls sustained in those sports. For groin protection, there is practically nothing, so you'd need to umm...support that area with more commonly available gear. For paintball, the tailbone protection isn't as important as the side protection but with this product, I have the benefit of both. Also, there's the added benefit of getting more "bounces" when paintballs hit those areas...
