5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
This book, second in the Demonata series, was a great follow-up to the amazing thriller of the 1st book. It delivers action, adventure and thrills as Kernel Fleck, a young boy, delves into the horrifying world of demons and Desciples (Demon hunters) to destroy the demons who stole his brother. I find this book a fantastic edition to the already thrilling Darren Shan...

3.0 out of 5 stars Blood and gore and all that good stuff
This is probably the most creative book Shan was written. That said, I'm afraid he doesn't have his usual handle of plot to keep up with the awesome and crazy ideas. Great stuff, great horror, disgusting macabre, but there simply isn't much to hold this particular book together.

(A warning: I am a BIG horror movie fan and I almost threw up from the bloody description, so be careful =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Demonata #2: The Demon Thief, June 30, 2006
After reading the first book in Shan's Demonata series I could not wait till the next book was released. I was not disappointed when the book came out. The second book seems to take place some time preceding the first book as one of the characters from the first book is "in training." However, according to the sneak peek of the third book the first narroator comes back to continue his story. The second book does have some gore and sickening discriptions; the narrator even vomits at one point but turns this into an advantace (I'll let you see how for yourself). Overall a very intersting read. Can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, June 12, 2006

I think that this book was really good and a lot better than the last one. This book takes place before the last book did, and is a lot more exiteing than the other book. In this story, a town where a boy named Kernal is living is visited by a murderous demon. This demon comes through a window opened from his own universe and quickly starts tearing apart the gathered townsfolk. When this demon lays eyes on Kernal's baby brother, something odd happens. The demon runs up, grabs the baby, and runs back through the window. Willing to die to get his brother back, Kernal runs through the window after the demon and ends up in a whole different universe full of strange things and aweful horrors. Kernal finds a group of out of the ordinary people, teams up with them, and attempts to find the demon and get his brother back. He has no idea what he is getting into, otherwise he would have gone right back through the window into his own world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book was as good as other 2, but 1st and 3rd a little better, November 30, 2006
Still a marvelous book, Demon Theif catches the minds, ears, and eyes of many readers. Amazing details shows the action, and you can hear the anger and hatred in the book. You feel lonely when the characters do, and you pee your pants when your scared. This book was awesome, and DO NOT SKIP THIS BOOK IF YOU READ THE DEMONATA, ITS REALLY GOOD.

I teach middle school and recommend this book to all those kids who love blood, guts, and gore. It is excellent! But definitely do not read it if you are faint-hearted! Nightmares are a real possibility with this one as well as the first in the series. I can't wait for the NEXT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Demon thief, January 15, 2007
Surprised as a was this book, the second of the serie, had another main caracther, I got the point. In this book you learn more about the world of the Demonata, through another view.
Like the first one, this book also has a slow start. But once it has started, it never really stops. This just is a great book. Even better than the first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Then The First!, May 27, 2006
This book is better then the first, with creating amazing pictures in the readers mind, and having a great plot, this is one of Darren Shan's best's. I wont give anything away, but the fast-paced action will leave you stunned with the surprise at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, May 20, 2008
This book made my love for Darren Shan's works rise to a level I hold no other author. This is the book I would take with me to that deserted island, I love it that much. The only bad thing was I have not been able to enjoy another book because I keep on thinking how much better this one was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!, March 21, 2009
By
Wow, after reading the amazing "Lord Loss" I thought 'no way is Darren Shan going to be able to top with with his next book' - but he did!! This book was even better than the first! Despite the fact that this was not about Grubbs this time, which I was dissappointed with, this is still a brilliant book, and as ususal with a Darren Shan book it was so good I read it in one day. I doesn't even matter that it is a different set of charcters because, Kernal is a really likeable character, too.

Fantastic book, extremely suspecefull and imaginative (and gory!). The perfect sequel (or is it a prequel?) to "Lord Loss".
