I liked this book, in fact, it was very good for a collection of short stories. The artwork was killer. I'm not much of a poetry fan so I won't muck it up with a discussion of what makes good horror poetry. Let's start with the introduction, at first I was a little put off with the two editors going head to head, but after second thoughts, I think it worked well. The next section was art with only three pieces, but all of them were interesting. My favorite was Annabel Lee. Next is poetry. Third was the majority of the book, maybe 200 pages of short stories (30 or so). They vary in quality, and the editing could have been better, but for the most part I thought they were awesome. I don't think a book that costs almost 12 dollars needs advertisements in it, but there were only a couple of pages, so I won't complain too loudly. In the future perhaps this could be a monthly magazine rather than a bi-annual?? I'm looking forward to next halloween's magazine.

In this frightening 21st Century, horror should lose the fluff and PC elements that have plagued it for decades. That is exactly what you get in Demonminds print and on-line versions. Each edition has art, story and poetry sections. J.P. Moore has almost created his own unique horror genre. Take a look, but leave some lights on in the beginning.
