I Always Knew That Left Hands Were EEEvil!...,
By Bindy Sue Frønkünschtein "bigfootsalienbaby" (under the rubble) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Demonoid [VHS] (VHS Tape)
DEMONOID concerns a demonized left hand that creeps, crawls, leaps, and kills! It also possesses those it chooses, and uses them to further its agenda of eeevil! Samantha Eggar (A NAME FOR EVIL, THE BROOD) tracks the horrid hand, after it destroys her husband. Stuart Whitman (NIGHT OF THE LEPUS) plays a priest w/ all of the enthusiasm of soggy communion wafers. DEMONOID is much maligned (some of it deserved), but is still better than a lot of what passed for "horror" in the 80s! Never a dvd release? Why not??...

Demonoid Messenger of Death,
This review is from: Demonoid [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Demonoid: Messenger of Death (1981) is certainly not horror cinema at its best, but it's the kind of film I enjoy. There are a surprising degree of horror films built on the proposition that the human hand can act individually (usually to annihilate people) if severed from the body or if surgically attached to a new body. In a Mexican mine, some ancient demon possesses the left hand of a woman. Stuart Whitman and Samantha Eggar in the present, battle against that ancient bloodthirsty demon which possesses people's left hands.
The Mexican director showed great imagination with an obviously low budget. A very interesting horror film, low production values aside.

Come on! Samantha Egger! She did this movie a blessing. Origonal idea, but the budget was low. Still worth a watch. Anyway two years later Samantha went on to appear in Curtains, a classic! Any fan of Ms. Egger will enjoy this movie!

what some people will do for the money,
This review is from: Demonoid [VHS] (VHS Tape)
this is one of those movies that looks like the actors involved must have needed a paycheck because i can't believe that they would have been in this piece of junk.
the "plot" if you can call it that is about the finding of a case that has the devils left hand in it and when opened it starts taking over each person it touches. it makes them do bad things like star in this turkey. no stars but they make you give 1 so beware of this stink fest

This review is from: Demonoid [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i saw this one at the movies in the 80's and got caught 5 mins. into it and thrown out. man did they do me a favor. this huge waste of time is the most unscary so bad it's bad horror of a horror movie that it doesn't need anyone to watch it to stink. just no good tale of devil's left hand taking people over and making them stupid. the worst, no stars

lame-o cheap-o, yada yada yada. Not even if you are a buff of terrible films should you check this'n out. plain and simple, i saw the same movie with Linda Blair and a crucifix scene. It is missin' all this and solid performances not even campy enough to make me laugh or huff or....somethin'. keep this one in the budget bin.
