5.0 out of 5 stars Oh. My. God.
I think this is the best Nekromantix CD of all of them. My favorites are Alive, Sea of Red, and Beezlebub. I love this entire album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not the best...
This album is good enough but definitely not the best NEKROMANTIX CD. I'd recommend starting off with "Curse of the Coffin" or "Brought Back to Life". The flaws in this album lie with it's exceptionally slower tempos and drum machine-sounding drums. Don't get me wrong, there are some great tracks on here ("Demons are a Girl's....",...

The flaws in this album lie with it's exceptionally slower tempos and drum machine-sounding drums. Don't get me wrong, there are some great tracks on here ("Demons are a Girl's....", "Sea of Red", and "Alive", among others), but it's definitely not the epitome of NEKROMANTIX. Like I said, if you're not familiar with them, start somewhere else!

This review is from: Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend (Audio CD)
For those new to the genre of Psychobilly, think Gothic themes and lyrics, sung with the pacing of a Rockabilly or Punk song. The two may not sound like they would mesh well, but Nekromantix is one of a very small number of bands that can pull it off.

The title track "Demons are a Girls Best Friend" is the obvious center piece of the album, but other favorites of mine are "Night Nurse", "Sexton Society", and the two vampire themed tracks of "Love at First Bite" and "Alive". While the rest of the songs on the album aren't as memorable as these, they're all still good songs that are all included in my playlists at one time or another.

If you liked Nekromantix and are looking for something similar with a female singer, check out The Creepshow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waaaaauwww!!!!!!!, February 19, 2002
By A Customer
Warning: People who liked 'Curse of the coffin' and 'Hellbound' may not like this album just as much, but this album surely reveal some other aspects and qualities of Nekromantix. This is a very melodic album, but it still contains the uncompromising aggresive approach that is sort of the Nekromantix's trademark. It's an album of many moods, from the hard-rocking 'Sea of Red' (my favorite) and 'Always and Never' over the country-inspirated 'Wanted' (almost like the old D:A:D) to the very melodic 'Last Night I saved an Angel' and 'Love at first Bite'. It may not be pure psychobilly, but it certainly is pure Nekromantix!
