I confess - I have never read In the Forests of the Night. I have started it many times, but failed to get into it. The other three books, however, are masterpieces. Midnight's Predator is, by no doubt, my favorite, but the others are good nonetheless.
Though written for teenagers, these books can be enjoyed by all. They dive the reader into a realistic world of vampires, and not the "sparkly" type that are all the rage these days. These are the brutal vampires, and yet, you see humanity in places where there is none. These are definitely worth the buy, seeing as they are the types of books that you return to time and time again. I adore Amelia Atwater-Rhodes as a writer, and would wholeheartedly recommend these books to anyone who is considering buying.

You know, I've read mixed reviews about this book. Some people love it, some people hate it. I'm really into the vampire mythology stuff, but I figured that I would probably let this one go. Well, I've been seeing it every time I go to the store - Target, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, and finally it was in my Amazon recommendations. So I decided, why not just buy it. And I am SO glad I did. The stories in this book are haunting in a way. I'm just wishing I had bought it sooner. And I really love being able to get 3 books for the price of one.

I bought this for myself as an ebook and I also bought it in paperback for a friend. I love the way the author writes and how she brings each characters to life. Vampires... is what brings me in and you wont be disappointed in reading this. I even got my mother into reading this. I believe this worth reading for all ages.

This book really sucked me in...lol...pardon the pun. The 1st novel,In the forests of the night was good. Demon in my view really got me interested. From there I just could not put this book down. Out of the four, very well written novels, my 2 favs are demon in my view & midnight predator. I would love to see continuations of All of these wonderfully written, entertaining story worlds that just seemed to suck my entire imagination into them. I know I am going to check out some of this authors other books for sure. I adore her stories. I noticed she always seems to leave you wanting more...at least with this book that is...lol. Gotta love it! I would like to read more about Aubrey & Jaguar. Two of my favorite characters. This book is fun to read and don't be surprized if you find yourself daydreaming...as well as nightdreaming about these characters. Have Fun!

Fantastic!,

These are my favorite stories of Atwater-Rhodes. Midnight Predator is the best. It's fascinating how well the author ties the world together. Each story is it's own, but you can see how they all relate to each other and can enjoy when characters from the other stories pop up in a new one.

Book was in very good condition, no rips, tares, or marks on the pages. the book had no creases in the over. The book looked brand new, aside from a few nicks and dents along the edge of the cover, but it's hardly notice able.

Amelia is an amazing writer for those looking for a quick or easy read. Her tale of shapeshifter and vampires are enrapturing and they're about a 5th or 6th grade level. They do have some innuendos incase you're planning on letting a teen or smaller kid read them.

Vampires, Vampires, Vampires,
This review is from: The Den of Shadows Quartet (Paperback)
Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' novels inspired my vampire fantasies as an adolescent. After reading Demon in My View and Midnight Predator, my two favs of the quartet, I remember fanatically searching for other teen vampire novels at the library, and devouring works from Anne Rice, Anita Blake series, and L.J Smith. I've always found her story lines compelling and entertaining quick reads, but I only wish she would have elaborated more on her ideas and created longer novels. The endings are usually a little abrupt and much is left to the reader's imagination, but I think that is part of her writing style. That being said, these novels were out before Twilight and they're refreshing and should not be missed by vampire fans craving more than just a romance. This cover is as gorgeous as the originals as well.

This book includes In the Forest of the Night, Demon in my View, Shattered Mirror, and Midnight Predator. These are the first four books Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote. All four are good vampire books. They introduce Atwater-Rhodes' vampire world from four different points of view (a vampire, a human born from a vampire, a witch/vampire hunter, and a human vampire hunter who was a part of a vampire slave trade). The cover has good art with a girl dissolving into bats. My only complaint is that it's not in hardcover.

Promising young author,
This review is from: The Den of Shadows Quartet (Paperback)
While it is obvious that the author is young, the books themselves are well written. While some will argue that she should have waited until she was older and more experienced to publish I think by publishing young she is in fact honing these skills and creating a large fan base. I read these books several years ago and enjoyed them as a teenager so much that as an adult I still read her works.
