Love it!,

Another great album from the Trews. Almost an hour of their signature high-energy pure rock, (but probably a little mellower than "No Time For Later") There's a couple slow longs to mix things up (I Can't Say, Naked), but it's still very party-worthy.
If you're reading this you're probably at least familiar with the radio-played singles "Poor Ol' Broken Hearted Me," "Tired of Waiting," and "So She's Leaving," which are great tracks, but this is one of those rare albums where any of the tracks could have been singles, there's no filler here. Every song has it's own pizazz. So yeah, I love it, and if you're a Trews fan I'm sure you'll love it too.

This is a wonderful album of bluesy rock. Take the best of the Black Crowes, throw in a touch of Audioslave, and mix it with some Led Zeppelin from their prime, and you might get something close to what The Trews have on this album. If you love those bands and have not yet heard The Trews, definitely check these guys out. There is a great deal of talent there.

An awesome album but you should see them live...,

I love this album and I love the Trews, I will not lie. Though I'm from the US, I've been following them since a friend who is the cousin of somebody in the band introduced me to them about 2 years ago. Both albums are very good, nigh on excellent, but still they compare to the live show the way a match compares to a supernova. Seeing the Trews live is awesome, period.
So yeah, buy the album, it's very good, and once you know the music, see them live, because it's even better.

And I believe it's time to let the cat out of the bag.....The Trews are an extrememly talented, rockin' band! These are musicians that spotlight their instrumental talents first, but deliver melodies that you can't help singing your heart out to.
Genuinely GOOD albums are few and far between these days, a CD that you can pop in and listen to all the way through without skipping over tracks to get to "your favorite songs"......this album, Den Of Thieves, is one of those rare, precious finds.

The Trews... A Fresh Breath of Rock n Roll!!!,

I have to admit before I saw them perform at Underground in Ontario I've never even heard of them (being American and all...) but now I'm a converted Trews fan! They're an absolute fresh breath of hard rock air from all the R&B and rock boy bands that seem to have taken over the radio airwaves. A positive comparison I can make is that their music has a similar vibe to Foo Fighters. They're touring in the US soon which I'm so glad because these talented boys rock hard live. I've never written a customer review before but I'm so eager to share this great band with anyone and EVERYONE! Songs that are a must listen are: Poor Ol' Broken Hearted Me, Yearning, So She's Leaving and Ana & Mia. So who are The Trews? They're just good ol' rock n roll man. APRIL 18, get the album!

These guys do Canadian rock & roll PROUD, and if the US pays attention they could break wide open down here. What rock & roll is all about! Don't just get this one...get their debut disc too and see what makes a great Canadian band like this a WINNER!

I was slightly skeptical about whether The Trews would be able to top House of Ill Fame with their second album, Den of Thieves. Ever since I bought HoIF about a year and a half ago, it has always stood out as one of my favorite CD's. When I first heard about Den of Thieves, I was excited, but also worried. What if their sophomore effort didn't live up to my expectations? I mean, after all, I was only judging by one good album.Let me just say that Den of Thieves is easily one of the best CD's I've bought in the last year. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best CD's I own, period. I love every song on it (and considering there's 15, that's an impressive feat) and there's so much diversity within that one disc. They know how to rock out like it's nobody's business (Fire Up Ahead, Ana & Mia), or they can slow it down better than just about any other band on the scene (I Can't Say, Naked). It would take too long to pick out every good aspect of this album, but you should definitely listen to: Cry I Can't Say So She's Leaving Poor Ol' Broken Hearted Me Ana & Mia If you listen to any of those, you will understand far better than from any explanation I can give.

I love The Trews new album and I especially love their new single "So She's Leaving". It has a hard rock edge and it's awesome. I wish the guys success in this album. I hope that they have a concert in Montreal,QC. I would definitely go watch them perform. I remember them playing with Evanescence July 2003 at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal,QC and they were amazing. :D Keep on rockin'Trews!!!

Have you ever bore your self with your desperate attempts to ROCK and radio stations decide to rotate you 100 times per day, so you can force some inert crowds to like you? I have great news! The Trews already did it. Band without any talent, boring as it is...is becoming popular. What is the secret? Well...after many Nickelbacks, Theories of a Dead Men, and Defaults, now finally we face our selves with another mediocre band to step up in this "beautiful" set of GREATEST ROCK disappointments.
The song "So she's leaving" sounds like someone wanted to make some vibe in the song, with so much enthusiasm, but no real place to channel all that energy...it looks for me like some dude that thinks he is dancing like James Brown, but he wears knee pads on. You can't do that...James Brown had no knee pads!!! Their live album sounds like very enthusiastic form of something that has no smell, substance, or originality. But many critics said: "Trews proved originality is not everything!" Well...it is not everything; you can also be very boring and overrated bands, with huge support from syndicated radio stations. As a result...we have another "who said we need to be original...we just rock" faceless band. It proves you can apply (Mc Donald's) junk food promotion concept in rock distribution too. It will definitely be sold. You just need to have a lot of "franchises". PA-PAA-PA-PAA-PAAA..."I'm loving it!" |
