First off there are 12 complete clamps, some have been confused by the description that states 12 pieces thinking there would only be 6 complete clamps.

These are actually pretty nice as pipe clamps go.
1) The clamping footprint is fairly wide in fact much wider than some of the cheaper (HF) pipe clamps. Obviously the more clamping surface area the better.
2) The non-marring rubberized pads are nice and thick and fit snuggly.
3) The heals of these clamps are wide and fairly tall ...meaning that the clamps will sit high off of your work area. Which again is better than most cheaper versions.

All in all these are pipe clamps and not all that exciting but they do have features that are better than some of the other cheapie options. Wait for these on sale and you are going to be down to about the same cost as those cheapie versions and I think you get a better clamp. The only issue I had with these was one out of the 12 clamps had threaded castings that wasn't real clean and I had to work to get the pipe threaded on.

Bought based on the reviews, needed some heavier duty clamps than my 1/2"... what i received was a box of 12 sets, but atleast half had thread problems as well as castings were not square to each other when tightened, consequently not giving good compression across the rubber.....i thought it was a waste of money, Amazon cheerfully refunded, and i noticed product has not been available since ? ?
IF for no other reason, You gotta love Amazon for taking their responsibility to customer service so seriously

I was looking for a cheap set of secondary clamps for my workshop and the price was right on these. The total came in at less that $10 for a pair of clamp heads with rubber pads, which is significantly less than what Bessey and Pony clamps are going for.

Unfortunately, they were back ordered for about 6 months, but Amazon's communications and offers to cancel the order were excellent. I chose to continue waiting and they finally arrived a few weeks ago.

While they are, indeed, functional clamps at a great price, they also leave a lot to be desired. Unlike other reviewers, all of my threads were clean and everything assembled easily. However, every single clamping surface is out of square. EVERY SINGLE ONE! And not just by a little. They're all canted left or right by up to 10 degrees. I don't know if they were pulled from the casting and thrown in a pile when still hot enough to deform or what, but it's pretty bad.

The consequence is that I have to be careful to keep all of the parts in alignment when I clamp with these. If I clamp without the rubber pads, the out of square clamping surface will dent the wood.

I'm content with the set as a back up clamp rack, but I wouldn't recommend them as a primary set of clamps.

These clamps are well made, offer a larger clamping surface than pony's and include plastic clamp covers.

I had no problems with the threads and in general the castings are clean and solid.

12 clamps for $80 is fantastic value and should solve my clamping needs for the forseeable future.

These are the solid nuts! I ordered 1 box. A friend had some 10' sticks of 3/4 electrical conduit, already threaded. We cut them into 6' and 4' lengths and the crank end threaded right on, no problem. I have also gone onto Amazon and ordered a box of 3/4 rubber chair leg tips to put on the cut/unthreaded ends of my new clamps.

I would buy these in a heart beat again.

Hint: keep a nice container into which you can store the black rubber clamp "feet" so they don't get lost. Slide the "feet" onto the clamp when and if you need them to protect your work.

These are GR8!!!

I ordered the clamps on the 22nd with a promised delivery of the 24th. A nice surprise when they appeared the next day (23rd). The box is on the heavier side weighing about 41 lbs. Upon opening the box you'll see a paper clearly stating that you have 30 days to return the product to Amazon if there is a manufacturer defect. I will never understand those that insist on keeping damaged / not working products and then bitch about it. Send it back if you're not happy. Anyway, each of the 12 sets of clamps is individually bubble wrapped. Good packing and no visible damage.

I read the reviews... When I need precision then I pay for precision. When I need a basic component I understand that it is NOT a precision component. I have opened only one clamp at the time of this writing because I wanted to check it out and test it on a pipe before unwrapping everything. I am pleased with the first one. There is always a little extra finish or some burrs from machining so after spinning the clamp on and off a pipe end a few times I found no problems with the fit. The grey/gray enamel finish is nice. There is sufficient clearance to spin the handle with only a little rubbing on the knuckles if you're in a hurry. The flanges don't sit perfectly flat but again, this is not a precision component. Given the reviews and what I see so far I have no doubt they will work just fine for standard workshop glue-ups. And during the once-in-a-great-while times when they don't then an added shim will help get the job done.

Fully closed, the clamps, without the rubber feet, are just shy of 4 1/2". With the rubber feet on they are just shy of 4 3/4". Working/clamping space will vary a little dependent on how far the clamp spins onto your pipe.
