we bought two of these to use while our kitchen is being remodeled. BOTH have quit working within the first 2.5 months. save your money or eat out...

Purchased from Amazon in May 2010 - dead as of today. Normal household use; yet, it dies in 3 months. The Warranty states I am responsible for the cost of shipping it back to Deni so it isn't worth the cost!

Update: deni was helpful in resolving my complaint. Since the cost of shipping the item back to them (even freight) would be prohibitive they have allowed me to mail in the severed cord and will replace the defective unit. A fair resolution!

I bought one of these. Last week it shut down and got cool real quick. I put it away and tried to use it this week and it no longer worked. Save your money on this. It only looks nice..

I bought this deni double hot plate from Sear in November of 2008. It serves as my main source for stove top cooking as I do not have a stove (i do not want to buy one). I use my rival roaster oven in place of an oven while using this hot plate. This hot plate works wonderfully for me. I use it on a daily basis for rice, stews, sauces etc.

I am unsure what happened to the hot plates that were used by the other two users but mine works perfectly. My only complaint is that I am contactly using the stainless steel cleaner to get it back to a decent look.

After using 1 time my Deni Table Top Burner gave up the ghost. No complaints other than it stopped working after 10-15 minutes after being plugged in. I liked the high wattage of this unit but, will have to look elsewhere for something more reliable.

purchased this on june 2nd and it died the 3rd week of august. i am a person with fairly simple food making. this burner was not overtaxed by any means. it boiled water hot and fast, it heated up can goods in no time at all. even the temperature control cut off and on didn't bother me. i went to heat up the frypan to cook eggs that were already seasoned in a bowl but the eggs never made it. the deni warmed no more! am looking to see what else amazon has to offer.

broke on me too, first the on light stopped working **Dangerous**, then the whole thing just
shorted out, lasted about three months of light daily use. even the stainless steel stained, was strangely impossible to get clean. thats what you get for buying pretty

If you dont have too much Space or live in small place this is the product for you. Very usefull and anything can Fit here. It cooks perfect in no time. Its almost like havin a Gas Stove. I like it so much. strongly recomended

Bought this unit at a sears store after moving into an apartment with a non-working stove.
The unit on the packaging pictures looked strong and durable.

After spending roughly $35 for it, I took it home, opened it and realized it was actually made with pretty cheap aluminum. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to be moving it often as I would have it sit over the stove while i used it so i thought no big deal.

Unfortunately, It didn't live up to any reasonable expectations. Though I may have only used it between 3-4 times a week, it's now just sitting dead weight. Stopped working, for no apparent reason, in only 5 weeks. Spend your money elsewhere as this unit will only disappoint.

This is a dangerous appliance and should be taken off the market! It got so hot that I got burned just trying to shut it off! And it took at least 15 minutes before I could even pick it up.
