I've played on a Humes & Berg Stonelined Straight mute for years and decided that it was time to move on. The Denis Wick straight mute gives a clear sound without the airy noise I heard with the Humes & Berg. It also has a quick response and a good tone at all dynaimc levels. I'm very pleased with this mute and recommend it to everyone. If you still play on a Humes & Berg Stonelined you're just holding yourself back, switch to a Denis Wick

This mute is of good quality, and has held up well over the past few years of ownership.My only complaint about the mute is that the tone is not as bright as others that I have played, however it is excellently free blowing and good for multi-purpose use.
