I hadn't worked out since I started my family and I had gained a lot of fat during my second pregnancy. I started this video at 4 months postpartum, worked out 3x a week, and lost 30lbs within a year. I credit this video, Denise's spirit, and a sensible diet for my success. I found this video to be uplifting and motivational. Once you've done it a few times it's easy to get in step with the workout and intensify it to your own level. It gets your heart rate up and keeps it up, has a fun warm-up and cool-down. I do, however, choose to stretch out on my own before starting the video because it doesn't spend a lot of time with that. And I also do a separate video that targets the abdominal muscles. But for an effective aerobic workout, I recommend Denise to any mom.

I HATE to exercise. I've had two gym memberships that were never put to good use. I was always slim. Before pregnancy, I weighed 108 lbs and I ate everything. I gained 50 lbs and knew I had to do something after I had my daughter and only lost 10 lbs. Although I liked having a bit more weight on me, I didn't like my muscle tone, or lack thereof. I had a gut, which was loose and had a bit of a hang to it. My low rise jeans laughed from my closet. My thighs were also huge and <gasp> IS THAT what cellulie looks like. I knew I had to do something. Dieting was out of the question since I breastfeed and what new mom has time to go to the gym 4 times a week. Then I tried this tape. Amazingly, I found it very easy to do. I like the fact that I don't need any extra equipment to use it. I just throw a blanket down on the floor and I'm good to go. It starts with aerobics which did seem a bit tricky at first. After three times of using this tape, I had mastered the beginning moves. Next is toning which is what I love best. The exercises are easy and don't get boring. As soon as you start to feel the burn in the area you're working on, and you think you can't take anymore, they switch. I've been using it 5 times a week for almost two months and have noticed the difference. Occasionally when I have 10 extra minutes, I'll use one of these exercises and do a few reps. This tape never wore me out, in fact it gave me more energy. I do it in the morning before my husband leaves for work and I find I can do more than ever before, afterward. Normally this would be my nap time. I LOVE this tape and don't think some of the other reviewers gave it a fair chance. You do not have to be a dancer to master this regimen. But it will be able to make you dance more!!!

Bounce Back After Baby,

I have been reading some 'not so good' reviews on this video - and so I had to add my own comments. I had a baby at 38 years of age. My older 2 are 13 and 18, so it was definately a big shock to my body and I gained way too much weight. I had been trying for a long time to lose the weight, and now 7 months after delivery, I have found that I am finally loosing the weight, thanks to this fantastic video. Yes, she does make a couple of mistakes, but if you do it often enough - like you should, you will be fine. This video really works in all the places it needs to after you have a baby. The moves are really easy and she makes it a lot of fun. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

I did this workout this morning. Great workout. Very good for anyone who wants to get into shape whether you recently had a baby or not. Every body part is covered. Yes, she is VERY peppy...but I was smiling the whole time!

I have worked out to other Denise Austin videos. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the missed and inconsitent number of steps throughout the aerbic portion of this video. Even a couple of her aerobic participants in the video missed steps or moves. I would have preferred the camera follow her face as she turned with the steps. I did like the enthusiasm and support she gives throughout the video. The toning and firming section needed more reps and verbal announcements when changing from one position to the next. Keeping good form means I cannot keep my eyes glued to the TV, so my instructor needs to tell me when to change. I can leave or take the yoga. Overall, I will be looking for a new video workout and then shelve this one.

Helped me lose 65 pounds!,

I have never given birth and I love this video! I used it when I first started out dieting and exercising 3 years ago. I could not complete the aerobics part, first starting out. Now, 65 pounds lighter, I do the aerobics part once, rewind and jog in place while rewinding, then do aerobics again. That makes it lasst 55 minutes, and gives 25 minutes of aerobics. It is perfect for when the weather is too bad for walking.

I have had 2 kids plus 5 knee surgeries, 1 shoulder surgery and the ligaments in my hips are very loose. I never found this tape to hurt (other than the muscles I never knew I had) any part or be dangerous in anyway and I am not a graceful person. I lost 10lbs in 2 weeks and did not change my eating habits. I was working out 5-7 days a week. I love how she is very energetic and supportive. It made me not quit even though the first 2 or 3 times I was tripping over my own feet. The only downfall is my vcr quit and this tape I dont know if it comes in a dvd. Im hoping it will, it is about the only thing I have found that my body responds too.

I loved this video -- she is very motivational and you know that she knows where you are coming from. She has modifications for woman who have had c-sections also. If you stick with this video you will see the wieght melt off with-in two weeks!! This is a great thing for new moms and for woman who have had more than one child. It targets the areas that are never the same after birth and really works them and it gets you back to pre-baby stage. Also good for woman who have never really worked out or if you had your baby 5-10 years ago!! I highly recomend this video!!

A ... kicker!,

As a mother of five, I am most grateful for this very thorough workout. Fat burning, extensive tummy crunch, stretching and a long relaxation workout all rolled up into one video. I have tried many workout videos and none of them made me work harder than this one. You will burn a lot of fat guaranteed. If there are mistakes, they are minor and I was too busy trying to keep up with the vigorous pace to notice. I have worked out with live instructors and sometimes they miss a couple of steps. It doesn't change the effectiveness of the workout since a misstep is still a step and as long as you are moving, who cares? You are working with a human instructor, so loosen up!

I was looking forward to Denise's upbeat spirit but found it to be VERY annoying! I was disappointed in the actual areobics workout b/c she does not use much of a variety of steps. Everything is repeated too much. The toning section was average compared to other videos I have used. It is also obvious that they didn't practice the routine much because you can see a lot of times where even Denise Austin gets messed up. She also does not use any cues as to what you will be doing next.
