4.0 out of 5 stars Oldie but goodie
I've had this tape for about 4 years now and I still use it. When the tape is done, I feel like I got a complete workout. I usually put more bounce into my step so that it is a harder workout. The steps are easy but again, you can make it as easy or hard as you want. I'd recommend this tape as a starter to an exercise video collection.

2.0 out of 5 stars BORING!!!
This video does get your heart rate up and requires you to exert a lot of energy, but the moves are REALLY boring and VERY repetitive. This is one of those videos that will end up collecting dust on my bookcase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Denise Austin Complete Workout, February 29, 2000

The tape serves as an "exercise bible" to my friend, Jean, who looks and acts like 30 but in fact is 60+ years old. Jeannie lives in California, and she begins her day by popping her tape into the VCR and performs aerobic exercises following Denise Austin. During one of my visits couple of years ago, I was invited to join her. I did and I had fun. That year, Jeannie gave me the tape for my 53rd birthday, and I have been exercising ever since. The tape may not be for everybody, but is definitely a terrific and encouraging tape to be used for novice exercisers, or people like Jeannie and me, who are not "high energy" or "high gear" people. We just wanted to stay healthy and active. Nevertheless, I'm now into other exercising tapes, i.e., Anti-Aging Cardio Dance, Yoga for Beginners, Chi for Beginners, etc. Try it, you may like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars There are better... this one is really dated., July 23, 2002

I was tempted into buying this because of a number of positive reviews. I have a few older Austin videos that I enjoy, so don't think that I'm opposed to using those. I'm not. I found myself getting very impatient with Denise, as the warm-up seemed to drag on, and the stretches were very dated. More current videos seem to be so much more effective. The workout itself is longer than many of her tapes, but again, it didn't impress me as being very motivating. I do like her 30 Minute Fat Burning workout(1989), and the Fit and Fat Free(1991) tapes. They're a lighter workout that remind me of the aerobics classes of the late '80s, but are a nice change from the tapes of today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great work out with big benefits, December 11, 2001

I love this video. I began using this a few years back and got immediate and last results. Then I made the mistake of not using the video anymore and joined a gym. Because I was using weights in the gym, i bulked up. Denise does the same strengthening exercises you will find on a machine in a gym, but you use your own body weight so it tones without the bulk. needless to say, i am not turning back to denise's tape to go back to my pre-bulk days. Excellent all-body workout.
