Dennis the Menace Strikes Again [VHS]

As sequels go, this movie's approach to Dennis is very different than the first one.This is a very appealing movie, but the only actor I wasn't impressed with was Justin Cooper as Dennis.They make references in the movie about him being "seven and a half, almost eight",while the previous movie and the comics clearly state that he is 5. Cooper has a very raspy,ultimately annoying voice,so much that I was finding myself rewinding the tape and replaying it,concentrating harder just to understand what he was saying! Don Rickles, Betty White,and George Kennedy steal the show,with their charming performances as Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Wilson, and Dennis' Grandpa. There is a ridiculous, yet painstakingly hilarious scene where Grandpa and Mr. Wilson have a dance contest, just the two of them, with "Play That Funky Music" playing in the background.This movie is very entertaining, but it has its weak points, as most movies these days do.The actors aren't "extremely fake", nor is this movie "pointless", as a certain reviewer so kindly pointed out.Don Rickles has been in acting for at least forty years,Betty White,for at least 30, and George Kennedy is an academy-award winning actor,with a long-running, successful career,as well. Even the disappointing Dennis(who doesn't hold a candle to Mason Gamble)has had several credits as well(Full House, Liar Liar). A good movie worth seeing.

my three year old neice thinks this is the best movie she has ever seen! she's rented it about 20 times. it's really a fun movie for kids with lots of slapstick and very likable characters. it is actually a fun movie for children and adults to watch together. a very nice family movie.

My nearly 7 year old boy enjoyed watching this movie, but he didn't laugh out loud once. In the very beginning of the movie, there is more film coverage of the adults than of Dennis which my son found uninteresting of course. We bought the double feature of this DVD and he LOVED the Special Edition film with Walter Matthau much, much better. He laughed out loud throughout THAT entire film. Therefore, I'd recommend skipping this version and go for the Special Edition film instead.

i give this movie 2 thumbs up and a five star rating this movie is really funny and fun for the whole family the kids love it they watch it over and over they can never get enough excitement

Being a former "Dennis" back in the 40`s, I was so happy to see Dennis wearing a waist holster with a 6-shooter. Well done Hollywood! My point being, we knew the difference between fantasy and reality. We had good upbringing. We could even point our finger and say "bang" and not worry about "zero tolerance". We`ve got to get our sanity back. Children need fantasies.

okay I know this is just a kids movie, but this movie is extremly naiive, dumb, pointless, did I mention dumb? The actors were extremly fake, and I hate the kid that played Dennis. I watched the first one and it was great, cute, touching and sweet. Watch this movie if you want, but you have been warned, it's not like the first one.

It's been a few years since the last Dennis The Menace, so they had to get new charecters to replace the ones who have grown up, which wasnt a real uppy thing for me, anyway, this time around dennis was played by now 10 yr old Justin Cooper you may remember from Jim Carey's comedy Liar Liar, and the short lived T.G.I.F series Brother's Keeper, That boy is So cute! Just about as cute as young Mason who was the last Dennis! Once again, Dennis is at it! Gearing up his mechevious ways on not just Mr. Wilson, but his grandpa and two con men (one played by Carrotop) and it's up to dennis to save Mr Wilson since hes just hangin in by one finger, great for the whole family!

i never saw the 1st, but this is kidna funny about Dennis that had neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Wilson wants to move cuz he cant take the pranks of Dennis anymore. But Dennis feels sad and will miss them and he must try to get them back.
