An Entertainer With A Brain, September 16, 2003
Wow. Until his recent comments about the various states of the world at large on Jay Leno, the news and print, I knew him only from Saturday Night Live and Joe Dirt (I realize it's an abomination of a movie but it does have Christopher Walken). Upon reading about his various quips relating to the world today and various entertainers and celebrities constant whining, I knew I had to see his act.Dennis Miller is a rare breed of entertainer. He talks to you, not at you. He doesn't espouse slogans and chants, he speaks with clarity, reason and incredible wit. Even when he's not particularly funny, he speaks with the mind of someone who; at the very least, is incredibly observant. He completely brushes aside the agendas of the whiny left and the argumentative right and breaks it all down the middle with common sense. He leans in neither direction but instead steps back and views the world from an objective stand point and even when you disagree with him, you still hang on every word because he speaks like someone who thinks constructively and free of the sheepishness of a good number of people. And, to top it all off, he is very funny. What can I say... I'm sold.

A comedian that THINKS, and gets you thinking also, April 25, 2004
By A Customer
I just have to laugh derisively at all of the one-star reviewers here. The "logic" of all of those reviews goes like this: "I don't agree with his politics, so he's not funny." Suddenly, as soon as Miller, a comedian of formidable talent, is joking about something that you disagree with, he suddenly becomes a "shill," a "hack," and someone who is less than talented. You all know darn well that if Miller were cracking jokes for the Democrats and the liberal point of view, you'd be cheering him on like the sign-waving rah-rah crowd at a DNC convention. Don't kid yourselves, and don't take away from Miller's obvious talent. I don't agree with everything Miller says, either. But the guy is funny. More than that, he is very evidently intelligent, and he is a comedian that makes you think. We need more people like Dennis around. His analysis of current events is razor-sharp as usual, and his witty comments slice through them effortlessly. There is a sprinkling of profanity (quite a few f-words), but Miller uses these for emphasis, and most of the time, it feels appropriate. I dock this one star for being somewhat dated already with topical jokes such as the "impending" war on Iraq. But Dennis' humor is nothing if not topical, so this sort of thing is inevitable. Although dated somewhat, his jokes on subjects such as this are still funny. Here is a guy that, agree with him or not, is probably the most THINKING comedian of our time. And I love him for it.

Mediocre Miller material, April 8, 2008
Even before his veer to the political right, I was a Dennis Miller fan. I watched him all the time on SNL when he was a Reagan hater and saw his live show in college while he was firmly planted left of center. It is refreshing to see an entertainer of any sort that is willing to take up traditionally conservative causes and points of view, and, in Dennis's case, make them funny.
Raw Feed, though, is weak by Miller standards. Recorded on the eve -- almost literally -- of the Iraq war, Dennis's takes and predictions, five years later, seem...well...uninformed. Only a handful of jokes got a laugh of me. The rest ranged from cute to painfully "esoteric" (as he would put it.)
If you're a liberal, and you cannot laugh at the causes you hold most dear, don't watch Raw Feed. You'll just be upset. For the rest of you, especially Miller fans, it's worth a rental but don't buy it. You'll probably not watch it a second time.
