5.0 out of 5 stars Great earphones for the price.
I normally don't write reviews, but the previous review is so inaccurate, I felt I needed to give my opinion. These earbuds are not total junk but only have a few redeeming qualities. Believe me I own a pair of $350 Denon AH-D2000 headphones and they are gorgeous-sounding, I just don't know what Denon was thinking when they were making these things.

Pros:
1. Great sound isolation
2. Long cable w/ 3.5mm extender, uneven for around-the-neck style listening...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great earphones for the price., April 26, 2007
I normally don't write reviews, but the previous review is so inaccurate, I felt I needed to give my opinion. First off, these headphones are 1,000 times better than the iPod stock headphones (the ones with the bigger speaker). The sound quality is what you would expect from Denon. The highs and mids are crisp. The bass is of course, exaggerated and heavy, but most people like that. I personally prefer a natural bass, but the bass on these phones works well.

The cord is a bit shorter in length than other earphones, but works well for what I use the phones for. I use these at work, the gym, and mountain biking. I usually run the cord along my back from my rear pocket to my neck. The cord is plenty long for that, and I am a pretty tall guy. The cord is designed to go around your neck, with the length of the cord for the right phone much longer than the left. If you know how to use this feature it is great and will eliminate the need for a shirt-clip, although shirt-clips are nice. The cord is also tangle resistant, which is a definite plus. I wear these phones for 4 plus hours a day, and they are so comfortable I forget they are in my ears.

The earbuds themselves seem to be made out of a metal, and are a bit heavier than the Sony fontopias. They are very comfortable, but may take a day or two to get use to if you have used Sony's in the past. I bought these to replace a pair of broken Sony EX-71's. I find the sound quality and make to be superior to the Sony's. The Denon's are a bit more expensive, but IMHO well worth the price. Also, the ear pieces fit very firmly, so you can skip the super glue.

Update - These Phones also work with iPhone, no adaptor needed.

This review is from: Denon AH-C350W In-Ear Headphones (White) (Electronics)
Poor sound quality, jagged frequency response under 500Hz going up and down 5 to 6dB(very audible) deep bass missing, rebranded Yamaha...etc.

2.0 out of 5 stars Spend your money elsewhere!, May 18, 2010
This review is from: Denon AH-C350W In-Ear Headphones (White) (Electronics)
These earbuds are not total junk but only have a few redeeming qualities. Believe me I own a pair of $350 Denon AH-D2000 headphones and they are gorgeous-sounding, I just don't know what Denon was thinking when they were making these things.

Pros:
1. Great sound isolation
2. Long cable w/ 3.5mm extender, uneven for around-the-neck style listening
3. Different silicone cap sizes included
4. Something at least better than iPod stock headphones

Cons:
1. Silicone caps are WAY too soft and feel like paper, no tight air seal in ear (to be fair to the sound quality I changed the caps with another earbud set for maximum bass)
2. Sound quality (AFTER I changed out the silicone caps): WEELY bad. Believe me I am an audiophile but a relatively tolerant one - and these are unbearable. But these aren't your stereotypical non-bass earbuds - these have plenty of bass except that instead of a deep, tight, punchy bass, this bass has NO punch whatsoever and merely rumbles around. Strange enough, there is virtually no midrange on these headphones - so vocals sound like squealing, and combined with the symbols and drums of your average Owl City or country song immediately sounds like tinfoil in the rain and even starts to HURT your ears after a while because of how sharp the treble is.
3. Rubbery cable bounces around like an angry chihuahua during exercise, and pulls down on your ears and pops, practically drowning out all the music coming from your iPod
4. Pretty dam expensive for what you get in the box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price, February 19, 2009
These in-ear phones sound excellent, especially considering the price. At home, I listen to music with my open-back grado sr-125's (150 dollar cans) and I would say that these sound almost as nice (low end is a bit exaggerated, and mids aren't that crisp). That being said, I assume everyone uses these with a portable device and mid to low bitrate mp3s, and they are excellent in this regard. I also find them quite comfortable, and the uneven length wire is nothing unusual. I can't remember buying a pair of earbuds in the past 3 years that didn't have this feature. I'm not the biggest fan of the thin rubber wire which one reviewer already pointed out, tends to grab on to clothes. Not a big deal. I had a similarly priced pair of in-ear Sony Fontopia earbuds which I absolutely loved (but unfortunately lost), and decided to give these a shot. I don't regret it...a very quality product as I would expect a company like Denon to put out.

1.0 out of 5 stars JUNK, May 18, 2008
By
Anton Tobias (The vast cornfields of the Midwest) - See all my reviews
After purchasing these Denon earbuds I returned them to the store they came from within 30 minutes.

Here is why:

- Like many other earbuds these come with the awkward, lopsided headphone wires that leave you with one side having roughly 12 inches of extra slack while the other side is way too short. Apparently this is supposed to be designed for people who carry their MP3 players on the side of their body. In theory this extra length of wire is easier to maneuver when turning your head, but considering how many people I hear complaining about this problematic design it might be smarter to even out these wires...and no, they can NOT be adjusted.

- Immediately after opening these earbuds it was obvious they were shamelessly overpriced. Instead of the sleek, rugged metal design I'm used to with the V-Moda brand of earbuds, I instead found that these Denon headphones were made of cheap plastic. Not unlike the throw-away kind of shoddy Apple earbuds that come free with iPods.

- The box claims to have superior acoustic sound. This is just a flat-out lie. Compared to the sound quality of other ear buds I've tried (and I've tried alot) these were one of the worst. They actually sound like your listening to music through two mini tin cans.

- These in-ear headphones also use a very thin gauge of wire and don't seem durable at all. It would be much more reasonable to simply purchase a cheaper brand of earbuds. Again, this gauge of wire is comparable to the cheap Apple earbuds that come free with every iPod.

- Speaking of the wire used with this product, people should be informed that these earbuds come in two pieces. The earbuds have a very short (and frankly, completely useless) stretch of wire roughly 12 inches long. At the end of the wire is a a straight jack connector that has to be plugged into the included female adaptor which is attached to the other half of wire needed to make a reasonable length. Why was this necessary?

- It should also be noted that the jack that actually plugs into your media device is NOT a straight jack as shown from the box or in the online pictures. The jack on the second piece of wire is curved (like the old Walkman headphones) so it just adds to the annoyance factor of this inferior product. Anyone using an iPod or any other small media player should take this into consideration.

Anyone looking for a quality pair of earbuds should avoid this product at all costs. I highly recommend the V-Moda line of earbuds, you will see, feel, and most importantly, hear a huge difference in quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great comfort and sound, Bad wire design, January 4, 2008
By
jeffypop (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
The earbuds are very comfortable, which is unusual for me. The noise isolation drops the sound floor tremendously, and the sound quality of the buds is excellent.

However, the "behind-the-head" cord design does not work very well, due to mismatched cable length, and also the uneven weight distribution makes the left bud fall out easily.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy something else for the same price. Bad product., December 20, 2007
By
Ok, let me first start by saying I have owned 20+ set's of headphones or earphones over the last 10 years. I listen 4+ hours a day to them so I have a little more than average experience with this stuff. In a nutshell, these are a waste of money. The sound is very tubular. The midrange seems to be to high in comparison the the bass and treble. I have a custom EQ and I know what I am doing so don't think that I had my settings wrong. They simply do not live up to the Denon name. I think the engineer that created this product and put the Denon name on it needs to be fired. I was highly dissappointed. I paid $49.00 for these and it was a waste. I took these back to the store after 3 days. Buy the Zune version 2 for $39.00 and you will be much more pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, November 3, 2007
By
Miles "Miles" (San Diego, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Ridiculously bad! I bought them last night, and returned them today. At first, I enjoyed the sound. The cable on these phones is very awkward though. The left is almost 3 times the length of the right, and the cable is very short. You will need to use the extension unless you are a small person, and use an arm band for your MP3 player. I carry my MP3 in my pocket. During my workout, I had to take them out of my ears and put them away. While running, they kept falling out of my ears. I tried the different adaptors, and properly fit them prior to my work out. The weight from the extension cable repeatedly caused the left earphone to fall out. I tried running the cable under my shirt in the front, and back. No luck. The weight from the extension cable, also made the cable move a lot, causing a loud thumping noise in each ear. If you plan on using these, for more than sitting around, think again. They are a huge disappointment, and by the build quality, I don't see them lasting long at all. Shame on DENON for putting out such a bad quality headphone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sound and fit is OK, design is a bit weird, March 28, 2007

Sound ****
Bud Design *****
Bud comfort *****
Cord design **

I'm pretty rough on my earbuds and have been through many of them. I use them with my ipod during commutes. The cheap skullcandy buds I bought crapped out after about 5 months of heavy use. I would say the skullcandy sounded pretty nice for $10, the Denon buds sound quite a bit better than the cheap buds ($50), but the stock ipod buds still sound superior to the Denons. The ipod buds have a bigger speaker so they sound better but fit in the ear worse.

One of the biggest complaints I have is the bud cord. The length of the left is way shorter than the right side. I guess it's so you can wrap it around the back of your neck, but the difference in length is huge!

The cord is made of a kinda grippy rubber that gets hung up on clothes and pops the buds out of your ear when they get hung up. The one good thing is the cord doesn't really get kinked up and twisted.

Overall, I wish they used something a bit better for the cord and made the length standardized or at least told you on the box/description that they are asymmetrical lengths.

The sound is pretty good and they fit pretty comfortable. I put a tiny dab of super glue on the inside of rubber buds and speaker parts to keep the rubber from popping off and getting lost.

Over all I'm happy with the buds, but for the money will probably buy the apple buds the next time, they are around the same price. The higher end buds are supposed to sound better, but they are too expensive IMHO.
