5.0 out of 5 stars Good prodcut - works fine
I connected this dock to Denon 2808CI AVR, with ipod mini, works fine.
It could able to display ipod playlist and song on HDTV (text only) connected via HDMI(1.3).it lets you to select songs with remote.
sond quality is good. but i would prefer not to keep ipod in dock when not used, cause it allways chages. Overall very good product.

3.0 out of 5 stars ASD-1R works as well as any of the iPod docks
Yep, it works if you follow the Denon receiver manuals. The main advantage to the ASD-1R is that the Denon receiver remote control and manipulate your iPod; however, only music (Music, Artists, Genres, etc) can be browsed on your video/TV screen (and then it's white text on black and slow). Video/photo content can only be browsed (viewed) on the iPod screen.

I have an AVR-1907 and the set up is page 38. Page 39 has instructions for playing video/photo content. You have to use "Remote" mode meaning you browse content by looking at the iPod.

Give Denon credit, with the iPod in rapid evolution, it's hard to keep up with Apple's iPod of the year. I have a Xitel iPod dock on my other system and it works great.

1.0 out of 5 stars A great disappointment..., October 24, 2006
This review is from: Denon ASD-1RWT iPod Docking Station (White Finish) (Electronics)
This is the first bad product I have seen from Denon. But it is really bad...

I confirm all the problems encountered by other reviewers. The Docking Station worked for 10 minutes with a Denon 2807 and then, with no warning, stopped working and all I get now is a "Not Connect" message. I did everything in the instructions (i.e.: put the switch under the docking station in dock control, changed the Denon receiver setup in Ipod Assign to DVP where it was plugged, etc). I even updated the Ipod software version and did a factory reset in the receiver afterwards, only to get more "Not Connect" messages with 2 different Ipods...

Oh! One last thing, the S-video cable really HAS little mouses marked on the ends! So they are probably using PS/2 cables as S-video cables!

I will probably return it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not compatable with newer iPod Nanos, December 26, 2008

This review is from: Denon ASD-1RWT iPod Docking Station (White Finish) (Electronics)
Hard to give this more than 1 star since it would not work with either my 3rd or 4th generation iPod Nano. Easy to install, but with the 3rd Generation iPod installed in the dock, could not control the iPod with the Denon AVR-588 Remote. It would, however, start playing on its own for a few seconds and then stop. The front of the receiver did display Remote iPod, but couldn't control it. The 4th Generation didn't work either. Plan to return this and get the ASD-11R instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality item, November 30, 2008
This review is from: Denon ASD-1RWT iPod Docking Station (White Finish) (Electronics)
The dock worked OK with my Denon 2808 for about 1 month and then just stopped working at all. The receiver can not communicate with the dock and does not get the signal from the iPod. Piece of junk.

Simply doesn't work.
I connected to my Dennon 3808 and can't see videos and the sound couldn't be worst.
Useless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works on older iPods, some issues with setup, great sound, December 18, 2007

I hooked mine into a new DHT-487DV home theatre system. Followed guide and fiddled with Setup -> Inputs which recommended audio going to DVR component jacks--big mistake as to screwed up playback for the DVD player. Switched it to AUX audio and the conflicts disappeared. Excellant sound quality, especially on my 192kbps MP3s and better. Worked with 4GB Nano and 30GB iPod with Video. Navigation via remote tricky, with no skip-forward/backward or song display on receiver, but everything else works. Caveat: tech support informs me this unit not firmware upgradable and some functionality with newer iPod (9/2007 or later) lost--he recommended ASD-3N (networked) or ASD-3W (wireless networked) that is firmware upgradable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember follow directions, September 10, 2007
This review is from: Denon ASD-1RWT iPod Docking Station (White Finish) (Electronics)
This works perfectly with the Denon AVR-987. The music from my I-pod is flawless and dynamic. The photo's are easily displayed and during a party with background music from the I-pod it provides a wonderful slide show. The Movies are heavily pixilated, but watch able with great sound.

The only short coming is the setup, but I followed the directions step by step from the Denon AVR-987 user booklet and it was set up with in 10 minutes.

I recommend this to anyone who can configure the Denon AVR-987.
