Superb Surround Sound with Dual Subwoofer Outputs
Fully compatible with current HD audio formats, the Denon AVR-2312CI 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver provides powerful, theater-quality surround sound. The vibration-resistant construction thoroughly suppresses the adverse influences of vibration on sound quality, ensuring maximum audio performance with multiple technologies:

  • Equal Power Amp Design: Each of the AVR-2312CI's seven 105-watt* channels is powered by its own discrete circuit. This allows the receiver to reproduce original sound more faithfully than conventional models, which use integrated circuits.
  • Dual Subwoofer Outputs: An additional subwoofer output proves especially useful in large room settings where one subwoofer may not provide adequate low-frequency output.
  • High-Definition Audio Support: The AVR-2312CI features support for Blu-ray high-definition audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. These formats play back sound with exceptional fidelity, providing a more realistic listening experience.
  • Dolby Pro Logic IIz: With the option of two additional height channels, this feature adds a vertical dimension to the soundstage, providing more immersive surround sound.
  • Audyssey MultEQ XT Support: Audyssey technology helps create an optimal acoustic profile for your home theater by resolving finer details in the response, particular in the low-frequency range. Using the included calibration microphone, Audyssey MultEQ XT measures sound levels and adjusts speaker configuration accordingly, making setup fast and easy.
  • Multi-Zone/Multi-Source Playback: The AVR-2312CI lets you enjoy a program source in the Main Zone (the room where the AVR-2312CI is located) and in one other room. The source can be the same for both zones, or you can enjoy two different sources in those zones if you prefer. Use the Denon Remote App to control all the zones from anywhere in the home.
Full HD Support
With seven HDMI inputs, the AVR-2312CI allows you to route multiple high-definition devices--like game consoles and Blu-ray players--to your TV. It also allows you to connect all of your devices to your TV with a single HDMI cable, reducing cable clutter.

Vivid 3D Visuals with HDMI v1.4a
The AVR-2312CI comes equipped with HDMI v1.4a, allowing you to make the most of several premium video features:

  • 3D Pass-Through: With the advent of 3D media, it is important to own a receiver that recognizes 3D video signals. The AVR-2312CI is able to pass through 3D signals from your Blu-ray player, ensuring that the 3D effect doesn't get lost in translation. It also recognizes signals from 3D television broadcasts.
  • Audio Return Channel: HDMI v1.4a also features Audio Return Channel functionality, which allows for audio content from your display to be played back through the AVR-2312CI via the single HDMI cable that goes from the receiver to the display. This eliminates the need for separate audio and video cables running from your TV to the receiver.
  • Auto Lipsync Setting: The convenience of Auto Lipsync allows you to eliminate annoying sync issues caused by digital transmissions. This feature automatically compensates for timing shifts in video and audio outputs to bring picture and sound in sync.
  • Deep Color and x.v.Color Support: The AVR-2312CI also supports Deep Color and x.v.Color schemes, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture.
Enhanced Network Capability and iPod Connectivity
When connected to a network, the AVR-2312CI lets you listen to Internet radio, play audio files, and display images via an Ethernet connection. The receiver also supports AirPlay, which allows you to stream music wirelessly from an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iTunes. Or, connect an iPhone/iPod/iPad directly to the receiver with a USB cable.

With the Denon Remote App installed on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, you can perform basic operations, like turning the AVR-2312CI's power on or off, adjusting the volume, and switching sources.

FLAC HD Decoding
For serious audio enthusiasts, FLAC HD decoding support provides for the ultimate playback of your high-definition music files. A compressed audio restorer guarantees that playback of any compressed audio files, such as MP3, WMA, and AAC, is crisp and clear.

Supports Pandora, Flickr, Rhapsody, and More
The AVR-2312CI is DLNA v1.5 Certified and compatible with Windows 7 for audio and photo streaming, as well as giving you convenient web control. This receiver provides online support for Pandora, Flickr, Napster, and Rhapsody, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of online digital content at any time.

GUI Overlay and Remote Control for Simple Operation
With its programmable functions and intuitive button layout, the AVR-2312CI is designed for ease of use. The front panel is smartly organized and features a two-line fluorescent display, clearly labeled buttons, and onboard controls for volume and source. In addition, its on-screen display with overlay on HD and 3D sources provides quick information about your system's settings.

The AVR-2312CI's pre-memory remote control with Glo-Key and on-screen programming is easy to setup and use, thus giving you more flexibility in controlling your home theater.

Product and Warranty Information
The receiver measures 6-37/64 by 17-1/8 by 15-3/64 inches (H x W x D), and weighs 24 pounds.

The Denon AVR-2312CI 7.2 Channel Integrated Network A/V Receiver is backed by a three-year warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Denon AVR-2312CI Receiver November 18, 2011
By Elmer
I have been using this for almost a month now and loving it. I upgraded my 10+ year old Sony surround system that came with mini satellite speakers. I now realize how much better it is with full powered satellite speakers and a large center speaker. You can really fill the entire room up with sound equally from all speakers as long as you keep all your speakers the same size and power rating. I had a hard time hearing the dialog with small center speaker but not with this setup. I picked this over the Pioneer and other lower end Denon models as it came with 3 year warranty, a front access HDMI port and most importantly Airplay. What a kick to play music right off my Iphone or my Ipad. It has a second zone that I will be using for my outdoor speakers near the pool area. I am still using my older Sony KF-50WE610 with HDMI - DVI cable, also using my PS3 to stream movies from Netflix or play Blue-Ray movies. 4 Polk RC85i in-wall speakers and Polk CS20 center speaker, will add a subwoofer to complete my surround system. I am using a Harmony 650 controller w/Logitech PS3 adapter and I must say it makes my wife pilot the enterprise a lot easier! The getting started manual is sufficient to get you going but with so many features built into this receiver you may not get the understanding right away. The OSD/GUI display to the TV from the Denon works similarly to a PS3 system console and that makes it easy to use and setup. Tip...make sure you update the firmware on the receiver, set Standby Network to 'on', update all your Airplay device and you will have no issues with Airplay. I know this unit is nearly $300 more than the Denon AVR-1912CI but the extra power and added features makes it a great receiver.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wireless Integration: AVR-2312CI March 14, 2012
By graman
If you want wireless play integration from multiple devices, this is the receiver. The player itself took a while to setup out of the box - it is comprehensive but not complicated. I have not yet used the "setup microphone" for the recommended speaker setup. However, it is already great sounding when compared to my Onkyo HT-R540. With a receiver like this, I decided to install the speakers inside the wall in specific locations and then do the recommended setup.

The response from the Denon receiver was slow; however, its now resolved with the firmware update.

1. I-Phone Integration: Seamless wireless playback using the "Denon Airplay" app. Again, this feature seems to work better after firmware update. The airplay experiences intermittent pauses if battery is low on the iphone.

2. Windows Phone Integration: Seamless playback using "Connected Media" HTC app. App update (released 03/14/2012) required for wireless playback. No specific Denon App is necessary.

3. Windows Media Player 12 Integration: Seamless wireless playback from laptop/desktop. Network sharing for media files is required. When activated, you can right click on the song/album/playlist and select "Play to Denon:[AVR-2312CI]" and it will immediately play to the receiver and display the album art on the TV screen.

4. Android Integration: Seamless playback using the "AVR-Remote" app.

5. PC Game integration: Connected my Gateway FX laptop with HDMI and played Half-life; the computer hangs after approx. 10mins. Not sure which device is problematic; updates soon after figuring out! :)-

6. Video Wireless streaming: Not available

I am using this receiver with Onkyo Speakers for HT-R540. Fabulous sound output.

If you are looking for high quality sound, this is it.

More updates after installing speakers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, not great documentation October 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I upgraded my small home theater with this from a Yamaha rx-2700. The sound is a huge upgrade. You'll hear things you never knew were there. There are more than enough hdmi ports, and the form factor is beautiful. The Audessey speaker calibration feature and included mic are absolutely crucial and add a level of satisfaction with the unit that will blow your mind. Just one thing should you choose to order. Save yourself some time by checking your packaging closely for the Audessey calibration mic. I couldn't find it in the packaging and thought they'd left it out. I called Denon support and was told quickly to check the side of one of the big foam packaging pieces, and there it was, just as the support member indicated. It's kind of hidden in a little cutout on the side, so don't panic as I did.

The sound modes are plentiful and even the virtual surround modes for stereo content outshine my dts decoding on the old Yamaha unit. I use this mostly for movie content, so I can't speak much to the ipod networking or the other music features. Either way, this unit is going to leave most well-pleased.

My biggest gripe with the 2312 is that there wasn't a full printed manual included, just a quick setup manual. The full manual is on an included dvd in pdf form, so you have to go to a computer in order to read it which is more of a pain than you would think.

Even with that, I'm very happy with my purchase. You add an Oppo bdp-93 to this and you'll never want to go to the movie theater again, much less leave your house.
