Straight from the Denon National Sales Manager's Mouth,

One of the joys I have in my new role at OneCall_com is the ability to obtain product training directly from the manufacturers. This morning was one of the joyous times.
I just about choked on my Denon supplied chocolate donut and orange juice when I saw the back of this receiver. It is a work of majesty and complicated, geeky beauty. It is the receiver of all receivers from Denon--and possibly anyone else. There is not one bell nor one whistle missing. However, the words that rang out loudly for me when the Denon National Sales Manager was speaking to us was, "This product comes with 5 hours of product training. This product should only be sold in custom install situations. This product is not for the faint of heart. Everythign is assignable. It is a baby when it comes out of the box and has to be taught everything." People . . . know what you are purchasing before you buy this receiver. You will need to invest time into this receiver to understand it.

This replaces a Lexicon MC-1 and assorted power amplifiers.
Although not the first digital room correction product, MultEQ is a major breakthrough; Audyssey's standalone product product costs $2000, requires calling a professional anytime anything changes in your room and is compromised by not being integrated. Most serious home theaters want more than one subwoofer, and the AVR-5805 family has one of the few controllers capable of managing more than one individually. If you work through how much surge protection and power conditioning costs for separate power amplifiers, even assuming that ground loops don't become problematic, this box is a bargain. MultEQ is not magic; judicious speaker positioning is still necessary along with something like Room EQ Wizard to keep things honest. One peculiar oversight is that, even though it has 10 channels of amplification and supports 7.3, it does not offer a default configuration with bi-amplification for the center channel, which is typically the most critical in home theater. Denon's AVR-4307 offers access to USB jukeboxes, but that is about the only "missing" bell or whistle. Speaking from experience, do not plan on being actually able to obtain one of these as B stock or refurbished..

This is denons top of the line 10 channel receiver boasting 170 times 10,..all channels driven simutaniously...Most receivers fail this test, and and will deliver only a fraction of their rated power or shut down...yamaha,pioneer and sony, among others, boast top of the line receivers, such as this....The denon is is only for a select number of audiophiles, who need and appreciate the best...This unit is not for a person happy with a five hundred dollar receiver, where most specifications are fudged, and loaded with distortion and current limiting...Please dont get me wrong .Main stream videophiles, and those on a budget can always find excellent sounding components,on the cheap...I and many college students, put, audio and video systems together, for as little as 250 bucks. These systems sound great!!!!I remember the nad 3020 intergrated amp, that produced 20 watts times two... this unit put 2000 dollar systems to shame and was more powerful than a phase linear 375.watt times two amplifer... that nad 3020 embarassed, the whole audio industry, back in 1976-1979...The people who remember this will appreciate the denon...If you feel the denon is over kill please!!!" just ignore this review ",and look elsewhere...There are plenty of moderatly priced systems out there. This set as good as many seperate systems selling for 10 thousand bucks.Plllllllllease audition at a reputable audio video salon...and have it professionally installed in your home. have full exchange/refund privleges,if you purchase this unit...Dont forget you can get a fairly good used car for the asking price of the denon... Thank you stewart L. 11/20/05.

DENON means "electric" + "sound",

DENON is a japanese audio & visual maker which belongs to D&M Holdings(its stock code is 6735. Very low stock price lol). Marantz and McIntosh also belongs to D&M Holdings.
"DENON" = "DEN" + "ON". "DEN" means electric, and "ON" means sound in japanese language. In Japan, many AV receivers(We Japanese say AV amp) is gold. I don't know why. No black AV receivers. Little silver AV receivers. I don't like gold color AV equipments. I am not chinese, lol. I give you advice. Listen carefully. OK? OK. You must not buy high price AV receivers. Because its decoder will be soon a junk. And you can't replace its decoder to the latest decoder. It seems that AV reciever maker dislike software(lol). They want to sell their products(only decoder chips are replaced. lol) every year, maybe, lol. I think power amps should be full analog, independent on digital proccessing specifications. Integrated type power amps which incorporate digital proccessors are non-sense. I want a cheap independent full digital AV decoder. Input: HDMI Output: multiple SPDIF outputs(or some new universal specification)

WoW! 10 channels! All began with 1 channel (mono), and then came 2, 4, 5, 6 and at last 7 channel amps. But it is ten! I have not seen nor listened the product, but the one who will buy this product should have a large ... large room for it ;)
