This mixer is great... Lots of features for a 2 channel mixer. First of all, the build quality is solid. It's heavy, and all the knobs and buttons feel great. It has 8 effects and a dry/wet knob for each effect, to get the transition of the effects very smooth. You can assign the effects to master or choose which channel. It also has a designated filter knob. For the 4 effects on the left hand side of the effects knob, it filters the entire song. For the 4 effects on the right, it filters the actual effect and not the entire song, so it's got a lot of variety for the effects. They all sound great too, no crappy sound quality flangers or echos. 8 quality effects built into a mixer is really convenient.

You can also assign the effects to the microphone input, which is a great way to start sets... say hello to everyone listening and then distort your voice and transition into a song. The effects section also has a BPM counter, so you can sync the effects to the BMP or manually set it yourself. It doesn't always pick up correctly on the BPMs (or maybe it does and the software doesn't) but basically the software BPM and mixer BMP don't always match, but it's easy to manually set it. And most of the time if the BPM is different from the effect, it sounds pretty cool. It's only if you're using an effect loop that the BPM can be a problem. This has not affected me at all and it has not been off much typically. Besides, most mixers with this function typically don't detect the correct BPM.

The faders feel great; they are smooth but with a touch of resistance, making it basically perfect. The crossfader is great too and it's adjustable, so the user can configure how loose or resistant they want the crossfader. This makes it great for both scratching and non-scratching.

I was looking for a mixer that would replace my old 2-CH scratch mixer but could not afford a Rane TTM57SL or any of the current Traktor Scratch certified mixers. After doing months of research I came across this mixer and found out that it works with Traktor Scratch Pro without the use of an external sound card (Audio 6, 10 etc.) and decided to give it a shot. It was well worth checking out as this mixer is amazing and does take a little bit of configuring for it to work in DVS mode for Traktor with time-code vinyls but it works flawlessly. The internal sound card sounds great and the sound output is just as good. I would say it is as good as Rane's mixers and I believe it is somewhat better than Pioneer's overpriced mixers. For the scratch DJs, the flex fader is pretty solid and feels very durable where it should last a long time with moderate daily scratching. For those into heavy scratching, remember that this mixer is compatible with audio innovate's Innofader (Pro) crossfader. So here's why I chose this mixer:

Denon DN-X600 (Bought for $600 Brand New) + Innofader Pro ($150) and has built in Sound Card so it works with Traktor Scratch Pro natively (Windows only) just use X1700 settings: $600-$750

Rane TTM56S (New for $750) + Native Instruments Audio 6/8/10 or Rane's SSL 3/4 ($250-$600): $1000-$1350

Rane TT57SL (New for $1450) Already has Serato integrated: $1450

Denon DN-X1600 ($900 cheapest Traktor Certified Mixer, but don't need 4 CHs) + Innofader Pro ($150): $900-$1050

I'm sure there are many ways to find deals on each item individually, but if you're like me who prefers to buy everything brand new because I baby all of my equipment then this is the configuration I was looking at.

I will keep this review short and sweet.

This mixer shines in every single area. Build, sound, features, x fader.
All top quality.
