Product Description

The PMA-2000 IV R incorporates an amplifier and a preamplifier into one chassis so that you can plug your source components directly into the unit for breathtaking stereo sound. It is also equipped with a power amp direct input terminal that lets you harness the superior performance of the PMA-2000 IV R as a stereo power amp or as a power amp for multi-channel output. To ensure consistently stellar sound and performance, we have passionately and precisely designed and constructed every aspect of the PMA-2000 IV R. An ultra-high-current UHC-MOS single push-pull circuit amplifies your music with a perfect balance of power and precision. It is capable of conveying the most delicate musical nuances while delivering 3 to 10 times the peak current of conventional amplifiers. The twin monaural configuration prevents any possible interference between the left and right channels. Its dual power transformers provide extended high current capability with substantial 80 watts per channel power output. The chassis is divided into 6 heavily shielded blocks to enable efficient placement of circuits so that left and right signal paths do not interfere with each other and negatively affect sound quality between the two channels. Twin transformers employ a leakage-canceling mount to eradicate magnetic interference and flux leakage, ensuring low noise within the amp and transparent speaker output. Radiators dampened with elastic rubber are situated near the vibration-absorbing feet to minimize music-muddying resonance from the power transformers and other sources. This integrated amplifier is designed to deliver superb sound from a wide variety of sources, digital and analog. Vinyl fans will love the care that we has lavished on the phono section - it accommodates both moving-magnet and moving-coil turntables, and the phono equalizer gets its own shielded, dedicated power supply.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful piece of equipment, September 27, 2005

This unit has a wonderful sound! I power Sonus Faber Concerto speakers with it, and boy, the sound is warm, but not too much so. The power is there when you need it for those sudden, loud passages. I can't afford a real high end amplifier. But my Denon gives me the sound I was looking for! I just love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tube sound from solid state?, March 17, 2007
This review is from: Denon PMA2000IVR Stereo Integrated Amplifier (Electronics)
Sold my Jolida JD-801A tube amplifier, got the Denon PMA2000IVR as a

'loaner' from my local dealer. The surprising thing is that after about 100 hours of use, I really like the detail and solid bass control this amplifier has. On my Dali Mentor 6 speakers, the sound is really quite good. Who say's U can't teach an old dog new tricks. If music is a passion for you, and price a consideration, I highly recommend it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Big sound, big weight, May 6, 2007
This review is from: Denon PMA2000IVR Stereo Integrated Amplifier (Electronics)
I have used the PMA-2000IVR in two different rooms -- one big and one a lot smaller -- and it was (is) great in both. It's hooked up to a pair of Vienna Acoustics Grand Haydn speakers, along with an REL Q108 E subwoofer and Denon's TU-1500 RD tuner. Since I went overboard with the system, I went overboard with the speaker and connecting wire -- Audio Quest Slate speaker wire and Diamondback connecting wire. I never thought speaker and connecting wire could make a difference. But the sound is amazing. The only negative is that the PMA-2000IVR is very, very heavy. I had to buy a Salamander shelf system to hold it securely. It's a great-sounding integrated amp I'd recommend to anyone.
